  1. Bon voyage, momabear! Enjoy Carnival Miracle!
  2. Bon voyage, shiftman1956! Enjoy Celebration!
  3. I bring a journal, and I write once or twice a day. A couple of times, while writing in the library, I was mistaken for a crew member.
  4. Great photos K&R! My husband was drafted for the comedian's show on a SeaBreeze cruise about 5 years ago. He and three other guys were put into gorilla masks, and the comedian instructed them to open their mouths (the masks moved) every time he tapped them on the back with a rubber mallet. Then, the comedian put on music, and it looked like these four gorillas were singing. I never laughed so hard in my life!
  5. I make it to the gym at least 2-3 times during a 7-night cruise. I also do a daily walk-a-mile on the promenade deck before breakfast, unless we have an early shore excursion planned. I usually lose a pound or two on a cruise... wish it was that easy at home.
  6. We've been subscribers since 1993. We also ordered the official Cruise Travel binders in which to store them. We just started our seventh binder. They look so nice, all lined up on the bookshelf. Like Jeff, I re-read them from time to time. It's amazing to look back and realize how quickly the industry has changed.
  7. Ask away, cruisinmama... don't be shy. That's what we're here for -- to help each other out. Welcome again to CruiseCrazies!
  8. I'd go with the more comfortable one, also taking the shoes into consideration. (I learned this one the hard way.) I agree with the others that you will stand out less in the black dress.
  9. We always buy insurance -- not just for cancellation but for trip interruption, including medical evacuation. We even purchased it for a 2-night cruise to nowhere.
  10. On our last two cruises, we had to authorize our son's card so that automatic tips could be applied. As far as I know, tipping on RCI may be done the old way (cash), so this shouldn't be an issue, but just a heads-up for parents who are traveling on other lines. I don't know if this is still an option, but check to see if you can put a $ limit on their cards.
  11. I've got the kid thing going too -- plus my husband's a teacher. School schedules for 2007 won't be out for another ten months or so.
