  1. popsec, I'm anticipating your departure along with you. I hope you enjoy your cruise immensely.
  2. hazelson, Thanks for letting me know about that law. I don't even think I could skip a meal. There's so much food and drink all around the ship.
  3. I always enjoy my first step on the cruise ship and walking through the public spaces of the ship. The preliminary part just makes me anxious. I always worry my plane will be late and I'll miss the ship. So, my favorite part is when I board the ship and get my luggage.
  4. sewut51, I can't tell you much about Progreso, but your excitement about sharing time with your grandson is commendable. He probably will be excited because you're excited. I'm sure he'll appreciate your efforts.
  5. ANDREWDCSTX, Congratulations on your DDM status. Now the time will fly.
  6. GottaCruz and Jason, Thank you, thank you, thank you for maintaining this board!
  7. Joanandjoe, Thanks for the mention but you're a major player on CruiseCrazies too! Boy am I happy I found this board. Jason and GottaCruz act like regular members rather than moderators. I mean they're not very pushy. JoeyandDavid always fills in when GottaCruz gotta do something. He really keeps this board busy. You yourself contribute quite a bit. There are a number of names that could be added to that list for the major contributions in jokes and information.
  8. Suzila, jbond, rogue, sailingrose, Joanandjoe, and Keith & Rita, Thanks for the responses, everybody. I'm so glad that I don't have to miss a meal. I don't think I could be away from food for more than five minutes. Your information was invaluable. You've reminded me to take some warmer clothing too.
  9. I bid on some art seriographs a few years ago and the value and paid about $280. Now the starting bid on the same pieces start at about $300. It seems some of my pieces are more valuable now. I only bid on pieces if I really like looking at them.
  10. Brady121291 and Shari2, Thank you. I've never been sick on a cruise before. I really believe in constantly washing my hands at every moment I get. I even carry a tiny bottle of anti-bacterial liquids to make absolutely sure that I'm protected.
  11. I checked out the Discovery Cruise Line site and if I lived in Florida a cruise on that ship would definitely be an exciting option for the day. However, living in New York makes it difficult to consider unless I did it as part of a Florida land package. The price seems right but I really prefer a minimum of two nights on the Regal Empress. I know that even the two nights would be too short for me. I think I'll have to do a minimum of 5 nights in the end.
  12. I'll be taking an Alaskan cruise next week. Can you experienced folks help me with a few things? -Can anybody tell me what happens during "cruising Hubbard Glacier" and "cruising the inside passage?" Are those days like days at sea or is it really spectacular? Is it a part of the cruise where everyone is on deck looking at the scenery? -Will we see whales? -Should I skip a meal to observe the scenery?
  13. That sounds like a great policy. Has anyone done Discovery Cruise Line yet?
  14. rogue, Thanks for posting that informative article. That is a great photo. I wish I were on the Crown Princess now.
  15. JoeyandDavid, Thanks for the heads up. I'll be on that ship next week and I'll make double sure to wash my hands at every moment.
  16. GottaCruz and gymbrat33, Thank you for your reviews of the Carnival Fascination. The cruise is so short that there were several things that I missed on the Fascination. I didn't notice that the ship had a miniature golf course on it. You sound like you thoroughly enjoyed your cruise with the exception of a few minor glitches or in GottaCruz' case the noise in the disco might have been a major glitch. Based on your reviews I would like to take another cruise on the Fascination and maybe go for 4 or 5 days.
