I've noticed the Princess forum has been a bit quiet, so I thought I'd get some dialogue going. Princess just added a new video to their website showing off more new features of the new Royal. What do you think of the design, and do you have any plans to sail her when she debuts next summer? The maiden voyages are nearly sold out (if not already), but I have staked my place on a 12-day Mediterranean in August. I am very excited about some features, but no so much for others. I am sad to see the removal of the Aft adult pool, for instance, but I am happy that they are improving upon the Piazza, making it larger and grander.
What are your thoughts?

Jan - we did that tour a couple of years ago. It was amazing. DH actually got pics of the barnacles on the whales tails.
The windows of the boat lift up so there is nothing in the way of your lens.

Mercedes - Great, informative and well written review. Aussie is high on my bucket list. We are considering the Equinox in summer 2014, so your review was a huge plus in helping us decide. A lawn on a cruise ship always sounded pretty strange, but the more I hear about it, the more I like the idea. Thanks for sharing!

Like others, we have elderly parents and we too, have had medical problems... SO... travel insurance is always part of the deal... Would not think of going without it...

I'd like to mention that I wrote and posted this review on another community site in 2010. Just wanted to add it to the roster here on CruiseCrazies. Except for the no-smoking policy now in force, probably not much as changed - and I think folks may find it helpful and relevant today.
