Yes I remeber throwing the confetti and waving good bye on the Independence. The first time I cruised on her the Constitution, the sister to the Independence, was also along side and leaving at the same time from the Aloha Towers. It was quite a site to see these two ships leaving and all the streamers and confetti being thrown.

Yes....I do remember all of this. I remember the Bon Voyage parties, the confetti, and the tours of the bridge, and sometimes the captain's quarters. Too sad that the,"times," have changed all this.

Remember having to go to the "radio room" to make a ship-to-shore phone call? No TVs in the cabins? No newspapers? No Internet? Cruising was truly a get-away then.
