hazelson
We booked the Conquest awhile ago and, with all the trouble with beautiful New Orleans we think we might book our air with Carnival as well. That way we will be covered if they sail out of Galveston or they are back in NO by then. I hope it is New Orleans - seeing so much of it on CNN makes me want to go there more than ever. What a spirit that town has. Some it is up and running already. The South will rise again! (sing along with me - I wish I was in Dixie....) lol. Any opinions on booking air this way? Does it cost a lot more and do you think it's worth it? You thoughts are much appreciated! ttfn Jennifer
Lisa63
We usually book our own air to save $ and time... yet, in this case I would book through the cruise line for the reasons you mention. Even if it costs more, it will be less legwork for you should your ship leave from a different port than intended. That alone would be worth it to me. JMHO. Shari2
Hi Jen... I agree with Lisa, I would book with the cruiseline in this instance because of the unknowns. We have booked our own air, and also booked with the cruiselines. Sometimes it can be cheaper with the cruiselines and sometimes not. The last cruise we booked with the cruiselines because of a slight chance of something going wrong with the pods on this particular ship. If something should ever go wrong with a cruise, you are much better off having booked your air with the cruiselines. You don't lose your airfare that way, and they will rebook for you if the situation calls for it. That said, I would really rather set my own flight times since I'm not an up at 5 in the morning type of person. We book according to the ship and the cruise itself...whichever we think would be best for the time and situation...and money, of course. lol
hazelson
Thanks for the input - we are going to go for it - just to be on the safe side. It's only money after all - dh will just have to retire a few months later than planned :o) ttfn Jennifer
schatje
I fully agree that you should use the cruise to book airfare this time. Too many variables to take a chance. Good luck on the price.
