We've had one piece of luggage lost when we went on our 11 day Panama Canal cruise. It really doesn't matter whether you pack 1/2 and 1/2 or not...when you lose a suitcase, you start thinking about what was in that suitcase, what do I need, WHAT AM I GONNA DO!?!?!?!?

Our one suitcase didn't make it from the Miami airport to the ship. It contained hubby's suit, my dress shoes, various other items.

It caught up with us about day 3 of the cruise, but the first formal night the cruise line gave hubby a tuxedo and told him to use it for the entire trip. They gave me a pair of ladies' shoes...I have never been so uncomfortable in my life, took them off and went barefoot for formal night.

It's an absolute nightmare when a piece of luggage is lost, and I don't believe there's any way to prepare for that.
