No I like the button/lapel pin idea very much. Just didn't want to walk down Las Ramblas with it on - the pickpockets are out in force there. We saw someone getting robbed and we also saw the cops chasing after someone else. We were approached by a gypsy with a baby, but had already been forewarned about their tactics on the boards beforehand - so we just yelled NO at her and she took off. Just be very alert and you'll be fine.

I hate to be the spoiler but -- being the practical me -- the only time we will need to identify ourselves to each other is when we first meet. Presumably for most of us that will be dinner the night before the cruise in Barcelona. Seems that we should bring or wear something from home. On other cruises, we've worn a red ribbon as an identifier. I seriously doubt if I would wear (or remember to wear) a button while on the ship. Other thoughts? Re pickpockets. They are so good that I'm aware of several cases where they were successful with men carrying their wallets in their front pockets. Lou and I have slacks from REI that have a zipper inside the pocket. Very pickpocket proof!

Diane this was a keep sake type thing I was going to get for the group...and mail the pins out before the cruise just a free souvenir bon voyage gift from David and myself to others .. whether you wear it or not I really didn't consider much outside the first night in Barcelona..

But i hear you as far as remembering or wanting to wear lapel any type of pin after that first night...

While the lapel pin would be great - they would be about $3.00 each and I can't locate any place that would do fewer than 100. Of course we could sell them to anyone who would want one once the cruise begins---Ha Ha only kidding
