zebra
We try to marry both together and I'm sure many do. But to answer my own question correctly I would say every cruise has been SHIP because we like to try different ships if possible, except (aren't there always exceptions to the rule?) this coming cruise to the Med - we loved the ship and itinerary so much that we choose the exact same ship that we did the Med with last time. (This is an exception for us!!!!)
JoeyandDavid
Up to this point it has been all about the itinerary..Hopefully<] in 08 we will do the Century TA Western from Amsterdam and it will be a 50-50 marriage..Hopefully<] is the key word here. schatje
Up to now it has been itinerary but this coming cruise and all following will be ship. We have fallen in love with aft decks to sit on and watch the wake especially in the evening when no one else is around. Not all ships have these aft decks as I am finding out so I am on a quest to see how many ships I can find that will fit the bill and hopefully they will have itineraries that we are interested in or we will be repeating ships
zebra
Schatje... you must book an Aft cabin and then you have the aft deck all to yourself - or so it seems! Yes there's nothing like the sound of the wake.

Joanandjoe
They're simply too intertwined, and both have to be right for us. Let's not forget a third factor, which is obviously important to us Crazies. Lots of us will take a so-so itinerary and ship if we can drive to the dock in a few minutes. That's why "home ports" are becoming so important in the industry.

rogue
We've also been mostly itinerary, but I also watched for certain ships going on that itinerary. My wife doesn't see much difference between any of the ships we've been on, so it's all itinerary to her.
sailingrose
I guess it really doesn't matter to us which ship or itinerary for the mostpart. We have gone to the caribbean so many times that we hardly get off the ship anymore. We love the days when everyone is in port, we have the ship to ourselves! For us, just not being home and stressing is the perfect vacation. We also have limited travel times so we just get on a ship when we can. We did choose the Crown Princess for the itinerary since it does Bermuda and Grand Turk 2 places we haven't been. My DD choose the next cruise on the Adventure because she wanted to return to Aruba again. Since she's 19 I don't know how many more "family" vacations we'll have.
