Lisa63
This was in our local news. A woman took seriously ill on Carnival Victory, and the US Coast Guard evacuated her safely and took her to a Boston hospital. The ship was at sea at the time, about 150 nautical miles east of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. http://news.bostonherald.com/localRegional...rticleid=145463 As always, an excellent job performed by the brave men and women of the USCG. Thoughts and prayers go to the woman they rescued.

schatje
This has to be frightening. I have seen this happen on two of our cruises. I just hope she bought insurance to cover the evacuation? Let's hope she recovers quickly.
GottaCruz
They are definitely heroes. I hope she has a complete recovery. When I see these things on tv, and you see the gurney being raised by rope into the helicopter, I always wonder how the patient deals with a fear of height. That must be very frightening, although I guess maybe they're in so much pain that the fear is on the back burner????
Longboysfan
A man suffered a heart attack while we were cruising through the Bahamas. Coast guard helicoptered him off. Great work on their part.
