This was in our local news. A woman took seriously ill on Carnival Victory, and the US Coast Guard evacuated her safely and took her to a Boston hospital. The ship was at sea at the time, about 150 nautical miles east of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

As always, an excellent job performed by the brave men and women of the USCG. Thoughts and prayers go to the woman they rescued.

They are definitely heroes. I hope she has a complete recovery. When I see these things on tv, and you see the gurney being raised by rope into the helicopter, I always wonder how the patient deals with a fear of height. That must be very frightening, although I guess maybe they're in so much pain that the fear is on the back burner????
