Joanandjoe
We've just completed our fifth cruise on a ship with fewer than 500 PAX (308, 308, 490, 140, and 312, to be exact). We've only sailed on a ship with over 1,450 PAX once (new Noordam, 1912 PAX), and thought that the ship was immense. However, most Crazies seem to prefer very large ships. If you have sailed on small ships, did you enjoy the experience? Obviously, we do. If you haven't sailed on small ships, why not? We welcome your views, and know that "different strokes for different folks" certainly applies to cruising.
JoeyandDavid
If you haven't sailed on small ships, why not? we would love to .... but to be honest we have no really good or bad for that matter excuse....
sailingrose
Most of the small ships are on lines that are out of our price range.
zebra
We too would absolutely love to - but most are cost prohibitive.
gymbrat33
Yes, I've sailed on Carnival's smallest ships the Imagination and Fascination for the 3 day and 4 day cruises. For the 7 day cruises, I love sailing on the Large ships.
Lisa63
I love smaller ships, but have yet to sail on any that held fewer than 800 pax. That was back in the mid-'90s. We had great service, the cruise director got to know us by name, and lines for tendering weren't so bad. Smaller ships can also go where others can't... for instance, I feel badly for those who won't have the experience of going through the Town Cut in St. George's, Bermuda, or through some of the Norwegian Fjords. Our next cruise is on one of HAL's S-class ships - 1300 pax and 55K gross tons. Once our son is older, I'm willing to bet that a smaller ship will be on the agenda. Joanandjoe
We too would absolutely love to - but most are cost prohibitive. Our week on the Wind Surf was about $1,100 per person, plus airfare. Is that so exepnsive as to be out of most people's price range? The trick is to have your TA find flash specials. To be honest that is about what we pay for CC on Celebrity... for a week if not more...... so i will stand by my original answer .. "we have no good reason...." Thanks for enlightening us
