    New: Reputation system

One of the new features to our community is the Reputation system. A user's reputation is displayed on their profile, next to forum posts, and within member search results - It is based on the number of points a user has, which are awarded by other members. The idea is simple - Find a forum post helpful for your next cruise? "Rep It!" A user receives points when others vote on the content they have submitted to the community. Forum posts and photos all have a button that everyone can use to vote on that particular content. The purpose of the Reputation system, is to identify and distinguish helpful and informative content, as well as the authors of the content, as valuable, trusted, and reliable sources of information. Because we are a cruising community focused on cruise information, this new feature will be very helpful to our members and guests! Here are a just a few examples of content which you may find worthy of 'repping,' or awarding points: A useful tip for preparing for an upcoming cruise A recommendation for a particular hotel or shore excursion A helpful piece of advice on travel arrangements A photo that you enjoy Good to Know: Daily Reputation Limit - Each user can give 5 points in a 24 hour period Self Reps - Users cannot vote on their own content Highlighted Content - If a post or photo receives more than 5 "reps" or points, it becomes highlighted Viewing Content Points - The number of points awarded for specific content can always be seen directly below or next to the content Can View Who Gave Reputation * - This is a new benefit to CruiseCrazies Site Sponsors. Complete list of Site Sponsor benefits currently in process of being revised, will be available shortly Coming Soon: In the near future, I'll be releasing the Member Reputation Levels, along with a tool which will allow users to view those with the most reputation points. I look forward to bringing these updates to you soon. Until then, enjoy!!!

  3. Hi everyone, Glad to see that you're getting ready to do some cruise planning. I know how enjoyable that is with the group. I certainly wish that we were going on the cruise with all of you. We did book a cruise for after our son's wedding on Carnival, from Baltimore for an easy getaway. It's been years since we cruised Carnival. I'm a bit leary, but I'm sure we'll enjoy it. If there is anything I can do for you, let me know.

  4. Hector on the Radiance we probably had 100 people do the walk. The cruise director really supported Make a Wish. I think that if they push it they will do well. I'm the proud owner of 3 shirts. A lot of people just bought the shirts but that's OK too, a great cause.

  5. Hector - Ask your daughter to join CruiseCrazies and participate in this thread. She will get a chance to know us a bit before the cruise and we will get to know her. Tell her we are a really friendly group

  6. Hector - nothing new on the shirts yet. If you have time could you contact the place you found and see if there are any "extra" charges. From what I have been reading on different sites, some places charge a rather large one time fee to create the template of the design. Also ask if there is a minimum number of shirts we would have to order. Our group is losing members rather than gaining them but I hope after the first of the year others will decide to join in. NO RUSH - as we won't be doing any major planning until after the first of the year when things get quieter and people have more time to participate. The walk at sea is a wonderful event - strong winds and heave rains put a damper on it on the Radiance but we definately plan on doing it on the Explorer and hope to have a large group of Crazies all walking together.

  14. What a magnificent ship! Loved the outdoor areas- the water park was incredible and the walking areas on the decks were extremely wide . Just loved her. The inside was very similar to the Navigator, which we loved also. However, we were very disappointed in the show- the formal night show had the theme of Fairy Tales- which we felt was geared to the kids, of which there were 750 of, not to our enjoyment. They were all over the ship, unsupervised, sitting on the floors of the elevators and traveling the ship in huge groups. The elevators were always packed. Seems like no matter how large the ships get, and no matter how large the passenger number gets, the number of elevators stays the same. We still had a very enjoyable 3 day cruise. I will write a more comprehensive review when the dust settles.

    Secret Cabins

Yep, they are Catagory PT cabins, far forward and oly about four on each side of the ship. I"ve even sailed in one. Not bad at all. They are the same price as an inside cabin. They are available on a lot of Carnival ships, don't want to say "all" because I'm not sure of that.
