  1. mercedes, That truly sounds like extraordinary service on the part of Atlantis. If you do book Nassau in January, I understand that one of the Junkanoo parades takes place on January 1. Two of my future land vacations incluce Mardi Gras in New Orleans and Junkanoo in Nassau. If you do go in January, I hope you and your family have a great time.
  2. popsec, Bon Voyage and have a great cruise. I love the Carnival Legend. May you have smooth sailing.
  3. frostyboy, Bon Voyage and have a great cruise. May you have smooth sailing.
  4. Haze and Brian, Bon Voyage and have a great cruise. May you have smooth sailing.
  5. sewut51, Bon Voyage and have a great cruise. May you have smooth sailing.
  6. Mrs_Factor, What a good point. Instead of reading about ancient history or Caribbean, the children can actually experience it through seeing the sites that certain events took place. I learned so much as an adult by visiting foreign countries. I'm sure it would impact children even more.
  7. mecerdes, My Nassau Soul Mate, congratulations on your booking! You have something great to look forward to.
  8. mercedes, I so happy to see that I don't see Nassau through rose colored glasses. I hope we have a chance to talk about Nassau some time. How was it staying at the Atlantis? Right now, the Atlantis is so expensive that it's only a dream for me. I do enjoy visiting the aquarium and the casino though. Maybe if I didn't visit the casino I could afford to stay at the Atlantis for at lease one night or a couple of hours.   Did you know the islanders are not allowed to gamble in the casinos?
  9. eagle_forest, Congratulations on your booking. You really have something to look forward to now. I hope you have a chance to book something in between.
  10. Keith & Rita, That sounds really neat. She sounds like a keeper.
  11. I tried to stick with one TA but he wasn't giving me the best prices. I started comparing prices through Cruise Compete and found that I was being charged more by my own TA while another TA within the same company was charging less. He also didn't return some phone calls, so I didn't feel guilty when I decided to shop around for a new TA. I guess you can say I book on my own now.
  12. Really? .. how so Mebert...... I got a chance to stay in Nassau when my niece got married. It was an opportunity for me to spend time with my brother, the real father of the bride, and a number of friends. We got a chance to visit some of the local spots, view a Junkanoo rehearsal near a section of the island called Fish Fry where there are loads of seafood restaurants, and lose some money at the Atlantis casino. My brother started us off with $5 dollars each. We stayed at The Breezes, a Super Clubs resort. The people at the resort just seemed to bend over backwards to please the guests. It turned out to be a land cruise. I guess when I think about Nassau now, I think about my family, friends and a good time, not to mention all you can eat and drink.
  13. popsec, I know you can't wait to get on that ship. I was just on the Carnival Legend and she's as beautiful as ever. She's a very easy ship to get around. Have a fun and safe trip.
  14. The Skipper, I'm anticipating the two weeks along with you. BTW, I spent a nice two days in St. George, Utah. I had a great time. It wasn't that far from Flagstaff, AZ, where we had a chance to see the Grand Canyon.
  15. cobaltbluechaser, Carnival has some of their shore excursions on the cruise itinerary pages.
  16. Keith & Rita, Thanks for the review of the Caribbean Princess. It sounds like you had a great time. I'm sorry that the food didn't get a very good or excellent. It must have been great meeting GottaCruz and her family.
  17. hazelson, Congratulations on your booking. You really have a lot to look forward to.
  18. Keith & Rita, I was ready to go and get the potato sacks. I was wondering where that was going. What a great twist.
