  1. Elena: I get all stressed out at least 2 days before we leave and it started today for me! We leave on Saturday for our cruise on Sunday on the Mariner. And my husband just left (10 pm!) to drive to Vermont (2.5 hours away) for a job which he swears will be finished by tomorrow. And THEN he tells me he's considering flying to North Carolina on Friday to do another job, and flying to Florida to meet us on Sunday instead of flying down with us on Saturday. Well, I put the old kabosh on THAT one!! As if I'm not stressing enough! And then my son got free tickets to an af2 (arena football) game on Friday night. Guess I was going to be up anyway, with double and triple checking everything! We all do this before a cruise (or any other vacation I expect). Like Howard said, it all gets done. Hey, maybe you could put your daughter to work while she's there - I always like coming home to a clean house...... Cori
  2. Yea!! I'm doing the Doc dance!!! Just got them today and only 3 more weeks to go!
  3. Activehiker: The ships are so much different now than in 1969! You will have a great time on a cruise. A Caribbean cruise that includes Costa Maya or Cozumel for the ruins and kayak adventure, horseback riding in the ocean in Jamacia, etc. We did the horseback ocean ride and it was a blast! I actually found it easier to ride in the ocean! Then if you go on one of the Royal Caribbean mega ships (Explorer, Voyager, Mariner, etc), there's the rock wall climbing. There's just SO much to do, or not to do if you just want to relax! We've also done the Dolphin Encounter on Cozumel (but not through the cruiseline - directly through Dolphin Encounter) and that was something to remember. There were only 6 of us to 2 dolphins. If you booked it through the cruiseline, there were 30 people to 2 dolphins. We had also booked the Stingray City Tour through Captain Matvin (on Grand Cayman) instead of through the ship, and again, the ratio was so much better. There were only 12 of us and 3 crew and when the ship's tour showed up, their boat was so crowded! Just do alot of research and post alot of questions - we'll be happy to answer all that you have! This board is THE friendliest!
  4. I would love to go in January when the prices are lower but we are restricted to school vacation or summer. But anytime is a good time to go!
  5. Sailingrose; Dancing with ya!.......
  6. We're going on RCCL Mariner June 27, 2004 - only a month away! And then we and a bunch of our friends are talking about a cruise April 2006 - time enough for all of us to save up. We're taking all of our kids, too. We talked about finding a cruise that goes to Aruba but I think we'd have to leave out of San Juan. Anybody know for sure? Sooo, looking at things, I thought about the Conquest out of New Orleans. It's a Sunday to Sunday itinerary and we could go early and visit the city. My husband's family is from there so we've been almost every year but none of our friends have been there! Never taken Carnival, though. Anyone been on both RCCL and Carnival who can give me a comparison? I realize it would only be an opinion but would love to have some input!
  7. I always bring my own shampoo as I am 95% white (according to my hairdresser). I think I'd faint if I saw my "natural" hair color, especially being only 50!!
  8. Ditto that for being with Hazelson!
  9. First thing to do is unpack. Then I go make the spa appointments and check the table assignment. Finally, I can go have lunch and just kick back!
  10. We like to have breakfast out on the balcony, then I go down by the pool with my book! We usually cruise with other family members (anywhere from 6 to 15 others), so some of us meet at the pool. Basically, just relax!
  11. Skipper: Bon Voyage! Have a great time! And thanks for that wonderful tip about the boarding passes on Southwest - we're leaving next Saturday to go to Tampa and bring my Dad back! And we're using Southwest again in June for the cruise on the Mariner. Give us the scoop on your cruise when you get back. Cori
  12. Congratulations to your sister also! And, like all the other posters, have her talk to her doctor.
  13. This is my 100th post! Yeah  This board is so fun. A big thanks to everyone for making it so friendly! I'm looking forward to that balcony.......
  14. Has anyone done a deep sea fishing expedition in St. Martin? Some of the men in our group would like to do that but I'm not sure of who to go through for that. I've looked at some websites but would like some personal recommendations! Thanks, Cori
  15. Whem we were on the Voyager 3 1/2 years ago, I had won $454 on Caribbean Poker on one hand of 3 eights. I stopped playing right than and there. The dealer kept saying "don't you want to play some more?" and I kept replying "no, I won". But he was noce about it - sorta joking/playing. We docked in St. Thomas the next morning and I rushed out and bought a beautiful opal and diamond ring!
