  1. We looked at the Carnival Magic for September out of Galveston. Opted for the Freedom only because it saved us about $25/person. Where do you stop?
  2. You have a valid observation that cruising is not as economical as it use to be. I'm not sure what the answer is. I know that there is a lot of waste - especially in the food area and I'm not sure how to solve that either. I'm guessing that the avg. consumer will pay for room service and think nothing of it. Just like he/she pays for the opportunity to eat in a specialty restaurant on the ship.
  3. Sound wonderful. Haven't been there, either
  4. I booked a 9/26/15 cruise on the Carnival Freedom out of Galveston, TX. The passenger meeting hall won't let me add it. Any help is appreciated.
  5. Welcome to Cruise Crazies Have a great time on your May vacation.
  6. "Jobowl" sails on the Liberty of the Seas in May. Joe - have a great time. Bon Voyage
  7. Your May sailing on "Marina" is around the corner. Cannot wait to hear about this vacation. Enjoy
  8. WeCruise Too - enjoy the Serenade of the Seas. Bon Voyage
  9. Jackie (ZEBRA), enjoy your back to back. Cannot wait to hear about your 2 weeks!
  10. I hope you have a wonderful time. Come back and tell us about your NCL cruise.
  11. All of our anytime dining in recent cruising history has been on Carnival ships. We see all the singing and dancing that we would see if we had a seated time. Early dining is just too early for us - especially on the port days. We opted for anytime because we like the freedom of not having to be at a certain place at a certain time.
  12. I'm sorry if there is going to be a universal charge for room service, but I get it. There is so much waste in the food industry and especially on the ships. It amazes me how much I see being tossed out. We don't partake in room service as much now as we use to, but I think that having it free is a nice touch.
  13. First b2b was in Ft Lauderdale. We had a special pass that allowed us to leave the ship and come back and forth whenever. Because we opted to stay on the ship, truly nothing was off limits. The room steward was fantastic. I did laundry and Jerry stayed on the balcony while the steward did the deep cleaning. Something to remember for the 1st leg, whatever liquor you purchase will be brought to your room the night before the ship docks! I remember we got a gift basket on the 2nd leg with a lovely note. Next b2b was in Miami. Again, the same type of pass that allowed us to freely come and go. Because our friends did not opt for the 2nd leg of our cruise, we were allowed to visit with them on the ship almost until the next wave of passengers came on (our friends were spending the night in Fl so there was no hurry for them to get off the ship either). Great Itineraries. You should have a great time.
  14. 14- days YEAH Baltimore YEAH (SW Airlines Tucson t Baltimore) Carnival YEAH Let's hope the price is the same cheer
  15. These are all questions that I would ask the airline before booking. My guess is that the really tiny print online addresses these issues. It's the stuff that no one reads.
  16. We've booked a couple of back to back cruises and have loved them! Enjoy. Where are you going?
  17. We were always late seating traditional dining. The past few cruises, however, we tried the anytime dining and found out that we preferred that over the traditional. We have learned that we can request a waiter or assistant waiter's table. We have learned that it is okay to wait 20-45 minutes to get the table that we want. We have learned that it is okay to eat when we are hungry rather than when the ship tells us it's time to eat. We have learned that it is okay to skip dinner and we won't be hurting anyone's feelings by not showing up at the table. We have sat at tables of 2-4-6-8-10 and have enjoyed all of them. Most of the tables for 2 are side-by-side other tables of 2 and we have enjoyed meeting those folks as well. The only anytime dining that we did not like was on NCL. They use the term anytime dining but you quickly learn that you have to book a reservation.
  18. This is so sad. When we travel (especially by ship) we rely on others to assure our safety. How awful for both lines to realize that they put thousands in harm's way without meaning to. Thoughts and prayers out to all involved.
