  1. If it is a port we have been to we usually do our own tour. If it is a new port I read as much as I can gather the info than decide what we want to do and see. It usually is our own tour but we don't rule out a private tour.
  2. we are not real big on the extras. We do like the mystery dinner also the kitchen gallery tour and lunch. Once I took the grand kids without Jackie so I bought her a nice bracelet. Never pictures, did wine tasting once found there wine tasting very sub par for what we are use to.
  3. Jackie loves being out there for sunrise. We eat breakfast sometimes out there. On Seas days we use it more often. I enjoy sitting out there before retiring for the night.
  4. Wow our first cruise was back in 1999. We were on the Sovereign of the Seas. We could not believe how large the ship was. Than we were hooked for life on cruising. It was four days we weren't sure we would like it so we wanted a short cruise.
  5. I started it and found it a little confusing. Maybe just me. Never did finish the photo book.
  6. thank you very interesting enjoyed reading the article.
  7. try this site for a great way to pack. http://www.packinglight.net/ I have been using this way for years. A great way to use every inch of your suitcase. watch the video. Joe
  8. I find I pack the same but Jackie when we drive to port I have no idea how anyone can carry that trunk. lol She is much better when we fly. Try http://www.packinglight.net/ for quick trying under garments and all kinds of neat stuff. Also there is a video on there on packing methods which I use all the time now. Click on video at the top then click on packing methods. Really a great way to pack. Joe
  9. Jackie will retire in June of 2012 so we will be going sometime after she retires. This will be my present to her for retirement. It has nothing to do with me wanting to go. lol
  10. it is a high but they offer deals like 2 for 1 and 1/2 off on second person air. Worth a look.
  11. Are u looking at RCCL like the Allure or Oasis? They are pricey. Carnival is a lot better price. Not sure why Prices are holding high that week. Maybe they will drop if you wait awhile before booking. Who Knows. Good Luck on your search. Joe
  12. Brando's son is trying to build a hotel an is having trouble something with in his will he didn't want the island to change. He felt if you take down a tree you would change the environment. This would be a great stop for cruisers. They tell me by 2012 it will be ready for day visits. We are waiting to book to see what happens. Your trip sounds fabulous. We have never been to the south pacific outside of Hawaii. So we are really looking forward to this trip. It will be Jackie's retirement gift. Let me know all about your cruise. Joe
  13. could not agree more. Well said. Oh I agree...sort of like the squeaky wheel getting the oil! I certainly didn't mean to imply that ALL elite members run around screaming, "No Wire Hangers!!!" to their room stewards. And yes, I agree with your feeling that their life must be insecure. That's why I just roll my eyes and laugh to myself. Hey - it's a vacation! Short of the ship sinking, I'm going to have a good time!!
  14. Wish we could had a great time on the EOS. We were on the first cruise after she was stretched. So I can tell you it was stress tested. lol
  15. I think the people you are talking about we have all seen. I believe most cruisers aren't like that. Those rude ones just stand out more than the quiet ones. I sort of feel sorry for those who think they are something because of this status. There life must be very insecure. I do enjoy any perks I can get. Especially the OBC. Then I would cruise almost any line regardless.
  16. We have in the past. Any more the last minute deal does not seem to be there for us. Not sure but maybe they have to refund to much money when other cruisers see that rate. I just have not had much luck lately on last minute cruises. Joe
  17. thank you for an honest review. Never did like ncl. twice was to many times for us. We will be doing the south pacific islands next year. We are down to three lines will make our mind up soon. Joe
  18. When I was working I was up your way several times a year. I would visit Borden Chemical plant. Some steel mills. Then I would drive up to Winnebago fdy. in Wis. Great area best restaurants in the world. Anyway I love someday to take you up on your offer. I think it would be great to gtg with you. Have a great day. Joe
  19. Hi there Joe; since I am a first timer for sailing from this port I just have a question. You suggest to park as far to the left next to the street. The street You're reffering to is the road that one drives into the port? I just want to be sure we are on the same page on this. No it is a different street. You will drop your bags off first they will direct you to the parking lot. There are two lots if you cross the street to the other lot you will have to leave thru the main exit. Very congested. We have sailed out of Cape Liberty 6 times. It took me awhile to find This way out. The street that separates the two lots is the same street in front of where you enter the terminal. I hope this helps if not let me know. I might have some pics I will see if I can find them for you. Joe
  20. Wow It would be something to see all your watches. I understand I don't think you can have to many. I don't have anything close to your Rolex GMT ll. Thanks for sharing this info with me. have a great day. Joe
  21. For those driving to port. When you enter the parking lot park as far left next to the street. (don't park in lot across street) You will be close to port this way. When you depart you will be able to take your luggage to your car it is that close. If not and you chose to pick luggage up with your car remember people dropping luggage off will be there very congested. Also by parking in the lot and not having to go and get luggage you can leave at the other end of the lot and avoid a lot of traffic. You will be amazed how quick you will get out avoiding most traffic. Gosh I wish I could make this trip you guys will have a great time. Joe
