  1. Hey we are looking at going to the south Pacific. I hear Brandos's private island is openning to the public. Anyway any one made the trip and what to expect? Not sure on cruise line still looking. any advice on which one. Joe & Jackie
  2. flapjaw is right about self debarkation. but keep in mind you have to carry them on a bus. It is one of the buses used for a trip so it has like three or four steps to carry them up not easy. If you are driving park to the left as you enter the lot which will keep you near the terminal so you won't have far to carry your bags. You can pick your bags up if you wish at the terminal but very congested area. If you park in the lot you can exit out the back of lot and miss a lot of traffic.
  3. We haven't been on Costa yet. We did a Caribbean cruise last Easter. Took all the Grand kids. Which sail free. Big plus when pappy is paying. My son calls it DAP. Dad pays all.We had a great time the food was good the entertainment some better than others. Very Very clean. I thought it was well worth what we paid.
  4. Yikes never cruise with NCL. I don't think I ever will.
  5. We used ups once to send bags home while we visit NY for a couple days. The Bags were home before us. We Paid $40 per suitcase.

  8. Gosh tuff one I love the Caribbean beaches. Had a great time in Mexico. Love the private islands. Just can't pick one. Would love to try the south pacific islands.
  9. Just returned on Sat. from EOS. We were on it in 2008. I can tell you the service and food was excellence. Just so so in 2008. The ship is in very good condition. sure there are some signs of age (10 years old) but over all very nice. You can Ice skate in the afternoon. and the ice show is great. Let me know if I can answer any questions for you.
  10. We have always had a great cruise with Royal. With Carnival we have had some great and some not so Great. We do not like Carnival Victory at all.
  11. We prefer late. I hate to rush after a day in port. I also need my Martini before lunch and 6:30 really puts the pressure on before dinner. Don't like anytime dinning prefer to have same dinning crew every nite.
  12. When we are driving to port between 11am-noon. If flying it changes due to flight times.
  13. Larry I am no expert at this. If you stay in Kowloon you will have no trouble getting to HK. Very easy so I won't let that bother me. I had a suit made in HK and bought some Jade rings and other jewelry. In Kowloon I bought the most spectacular Coffee table and 2 end tables anyone has ever seen. (at least around here) It was at Far eastern furnishings co. If it were me an I was going back I would stay in Kowloon. Again we were there for 5 days so by any means not an expert. I envy you going there. I would love to go back. Maybe some day. Sorry I could not be of more help. Joe It does. How would you comapre the island of HK to Kowloon? I've heard that HKI is nicer, quieter and has better shops and restaurants and is a bit safer. Kowloon, OTOH seems to be more frenetic and has more of a hustle and bustle to it. Would you agree with this? Thanks you. Larry
  14. Larry we stayed at the Hyatt In Hong Kong very pricey but we had alot of point so it wasn't to bad. Kowloon would be my choice if we went back. Very easy to get around. Taxi or ferry will get you to Hong Kong with no problem. I hope this helps. Joe
  15. Sorry everyone they made a mistake on my confirmation I just got off the phone with C&A and they took it off. Joe
  16. I just got my confirmation on my next cruise with RCCL sure enough fuel charge must be back. Anyone else here this. I hope this is a mistake but would not think so. Still worth it. Thank goodness the grand kids aren't going on this one. lol Joe
  17. I love royal. My favorite line. Make sure you take in the ice show. They have an ok lounge for the suite passengers. drinks and cookies in the lounge just ok. Not along wait. I think RCCL has better shows than most lines. I find the food about the same. we like the pomade. The bars are really nice to listen to music at. What is your int. Maybe I can help you with some places we found to really enjoy. Let me know Joe
  18. this will be my third time leaving from there. Never had a traffic problem don't know what people are talking about a tent. I never saw one. I will say they have not put a penny into it since the first time I cruised out of there the first year it open till last time witch was 2008. It is not bad but not organized like a lot of ports like Baltimore NY Lauderdale or Miami. I don't like being transported from terminal to ship. Port security is rude. What ever don't take a picture of the ship in this port They (security) pulled there weapons out when I did. there is no place to stay in the area and eating places are hard to find. then again you are there for a short period and the ship is a lot of fun. I would not be back if it was not worth it. I hate the hassle of flying. My girlfriend pack way to much to fly so we like leaving from the east coast. Prefer Baltimore. I hope this helps. Joe
  19. Wow what a freak accident. Hard to believe in this day and time. I guess there is no way to control or predict mother nature.
  20. Sorry I have only been to HK and found it very easy to get around. Since it was under British rule for so long everyone speaks English. Like most big cities it can be crowded but not bad. Cab service is very good and reasonable. They have great food and shows. I was surprised when we got to the airport there how careful they were not to allow drugs to come into there country. We had a great time there. I can't say about Singapore sorry. I hope this helps. Joe
  21. Great job on the review mike. I agree about cape liberty not an easy place. RCCL has done very little since it first open to improve it.
  22. We went over Easter this Year. I took my grandkids and kids. the price was very reasonable. The ship was very clean. The Service was good. Wine onboard for dinner very very inexpensive. Galoto was good and very cheap. The Int. was unbelievable. The shows were some very good and some not so good. The food was equal to carnival or RCCL. Would I go again in a minute. Is it RCCL no. Worth the money yes. I hope this helps you. Thanks for the comments. I had heard some negative on them but that was a while ago. Thier prices are reasonable which is why I am looking at them for a possible short cruise to tide us over until next June cruise. Italian food is usually pretty tastyso that wouldn't stop us either. Sam
