  1. We like wine in our room. We found box wine work well and keep well too. Never had a problem.
  2. Hi wish we could join you guys. Really sounds like fun. Jackie is a teacher with one more year to go before retiring. Anyway I little tip I found out about parking at port. In case anyone is driving a little helpful tip. When you enter the parking lot park as far left as you can. (Donot go to lot across street) You will be real close to the terminal. Then when you leave you will be able to take you bags to the car. (instead of driving to pick them up) Traffic in leaving is very heavy. By parking in this lot and having your bags you can go out the back of the lot and avoid a long wait to get out. I found this very help full. I hope this helps someone. Joe
  3. Gosh too many great ones to pin one down. Since we do most tours on our own. Alaska served in the Army in Alaska so I really never cared to go back. Hong Kong was great. Had a great one in St. Thomas. That is the best I can come up with. I agree sometimes Thank God for the beer!
  4. We were on the MSC last Apr. My Grand kids loved it. It was there first cruise. It was different but over all I would sail with them again.
  5. thanks to everyone for your help. I will let you know what I come up with. thanks again
  6. Do you know if their card will open both doors. If not will they give out an extra card so I can open both rooms?
  7. this is looking like maybe the best option. One balcony and an inside room across the hall. Thanks for your reply.
  8. I will have to price each way. It just would be so much easier if I could do it online. I called RCCL today. they would only give me a price on a certain cruise. Not real helpful They wanted me to tell them what I wanted and I don't know. The agent I usually deal with was Off today so I will try again. Sailingrose thanks for your reply.
  9. Does anyone know if it is better to book to balcony rooms connecting.or a suit for 5. If we do the connecting rooms I guess 3 & 2 or 4 & 1. I want to take my Grand kids on a cruise I didn't realize this problem. I guess I should call the cruise line. Online you can't get info on 5. Anyone ever had this problem? any info would help. Thanks Joe
  10. Congats on your cruise booking. Always exciting.
  11. wow that is awful. You have got to wonder how this could happen.
  12. Sorry it has been about that long since we were there. We had a great time would love to go back. The Cat's Meow was there than.
  13. I hope the $3000 was at least for 2 people in a suite. I don't get it either.....Especially to judge "cruising" on just one cruise... Debbie, you're right that judging cruising by one cruise is very inadequate, but if they hated it that much, they would not ever go on a second cruise. I just wonder why the author interviews someone who cruised over 15 years ago. Comparing 1995 cruising to 2011 is apples to oranges. Choosing a contemporary cruiser would be much more appropriate. Does anyone think that in 15 years there has been no changes in cruising that might have made it better? I get the feeling that the author never did interview this person. Probably got the quotes from some old article that nobody would remember. That an editor allow this to be printed just shows the state of journalism today. I always hear people say cruising is not for me. That is fine we love it. Our first cruise was in 1991 I still loved it. I must say that was the smallest bath room I have ever been in. lol Cruising is all in what you make of it. We have fun and laugh so hard at times I can't believe it. I think we all realize it is not for everyone. Best cruise always seems like my last one. More snow here today. Have a great weekend all you cruisecrazies.
  14. You are so right the land taxi is worth it. If you are looking for a beach we like the BC Hyatt right at port on the other side of Senor Frog. They charge but give you food and drink credit well worth it. (plus towels) The nice thing it is a great way to end the day since you can walk to the ship. Nice beach and not crowded.
  15. wow Larry great pics and great job getting them online. Really brought back some memories of Hong Kong. Did you stay in the city of Hong Kong. what a fabulous trip. thanks for sharing your pics. Joe
  16. You are probably right. I just wonder how they could let this out. I here that sign was at Baltimore in Dec.
  17. that is what I am understanding. This keeps coming up online. Where do people get this info?
  18. Anyone know if there is any changes in affect yet from RCCl. This pic was posted online are there new levels yet?
  19. Gosh really a tuff one. I can not pick one. love all the southern Caribbean islands. The Orient was so great. I have to say the ports of call are what you make them and we have fun and enjoy them all. Joe & Jackie
  20. almost every small inn on the hill claims to be the best you ever ate. It is like key west famous key lime pie. they are famous for their blueberry pie. Only ate one place don't remember the name of the place. The pie was excellent.
  21. We too have been there. Don't forget the blueberry pie!!!!!! Dress warm for whale watching gets very cold out on the boat.
  22. surprising Oceania is offering a great deal. 2 for 1 plus free air. Paul Gaugain sounds great but is still a lot more money.
  23. thanks Debbie & Jerry, Jackie's daughter is getting married this year so we took this year off from cruising. In return we decided to plan this trip in 2012. We have been looking at Oceana, Paul gaugin, Princess, and one more I think. We have been reading that Marlon Brando's Private island is now or will be open to cruises and you can spend 2 days there. We are really excited. Thank you for your input. Joe & Jackie
