I'm afraid of the Amalfi coast. I missed the exit to Sorrento and ended up in Ravelo. Instead of turning around and going back the way I came, I decided to drive up the coast. Aye caramba! Def. scarier than jumping out of a plane, or a moving vehicle.

Shannon tell us.... what did you do? The Amalfi Coast is ultra beautilful, yep the road is kinda winding and scary. We couldn't believe the people from the ship that had chosen the BIG tour busses - they didn't see half of the beauty and spent half their time in traffic jams trying to extricate their busses from the tight situations!

That is why we are leaving the driving to someone else.

Where do you live? Which airline are you using? We too are arriving on the morning of sailing, around 11:30.

Sure hope those staying in the aft cabins will invite us in for a "look see". There are several of us on deck 8 so maybe we could all get together for cocktails one evening. I hear the seas in the Med. are smooth sailing so should be great to have an aft cabin. I have always thought there would be too much "ocean motion" felt back there. Hope to try one of them some day.

I kept getting smushed against the cliffs by those big tour buses that you mentioned. I lost a side view mirror and some paint. Thank goodness for insurance. No probs driving around the rest of Italy. I didn't see but the beginning and end of that section of coastline, I had to concentrate on driving. It is beautiful though.

Are the aft cabins really great? Are the terraces roomy or long and skinny?

For those who have sailed this route before...can you see the coastline as you sail along side Italy?

Mary Ann.... you're welcome to come visit in our Aft cabin - a glass of wine watching the wake mmmmmm how awesome!!! We'll get together and chat about it, OK?

Shannon... the balconies are about 3 times the size of the side balconies and of course you have the plus of the wake and the musicians in the early evening above on the rear deck - come and join us! They have 2 loungers, 2 chairs and large table plus plenty of "move around" room.

Just name the time and we will be there. Sounds like a good way to get to know one another better and share travel tales. Really look forward to sharing our cruise to the Galapagos with you. (It is you that is planning that one?)

No Mary Ann not us, but I sure wish it was....we'd love to go to the Galapagos! Wildlife is our life - love animals, having lived in National Parks in Africa for 30 years you can imagine, didn't see too many people but many many animals and were able to study their lifestyles. You're going to have such an amazing time there!!

Just call us in our cabin once you get onboard and we can arrange a get together!!

Ok, it was Margaret and Mike that are planning the Galapagos trip. I had to go way back in the other CC thread to find that info. We did that trip in Dec. '05 and sure would like to return.
