eagleforest
We are looking at an April cruise for next year and have never done the West coast. Has anyone taken the 4 night Baja and how was it?

eagleforest
I am looking at the Monarch as I can get a Suite for 659 and the long end of it is the 5 hour flight. But I have only been to LA and that was a layover
JoeyandDavid
see i dont think its worth it for 4 days... but thats personal call...I cant see us flying from la to FLL for a short cruise.... but that is a great price.... Now if you are combining the cruise and a LA visit that might work....I could see that ... Hotels will run you around 195 or so depending on location.. you can get a rental car for as low as 35 a day enterprise services the port... you may want to consider exploring southern california from a Long Beach base.. No matter what you decide we on the west coast are ready to help you plan ..
jbond
I personally wouldn't fly five hours to take a 4 day cruise on Monarch. Monarch is the oldest class of RCI ship sailing. It was great back in '98 when we did a Southern Caribbean cruise on her, but 8 years later, she's dated. The ports of call are not that exciting. Last time in Ensenada, we didn't even bother to get off the ship. Jost my opinion, but I'd rather spend a little more and take the 7 day Vision cruise that actually visits Mexico, not just Ensenada. SCIROCCO
Arvids thats your decision but I agree with the others its just not worth the effort of flying and the 4 days its over before you can even get started! And welcome Back!
Lisa63
If you're going to take the four-night cruise, I also highly suggest combining it with a pre-cruise stay in southern California if you have the vacation time to do so. Perhaps a night on Queen Mary in Long Beach (I can help with that), a day in Disneyland, or something else of interest in the area. I just flew cross-country for work, and it is pretty tiring. Are you able to get a non-stop flight? If so, that helps a lot.
KeithnRita
If we fly to any cruise it will be at least seven days!
eagleforest
Never been to Disneyland or World only time I was in California was a layover for Hawaii. Now you want to talk about a long flight. 5 hours from Michigan and another 5 from Cali to Hawaii. That too D_ _ _ long. But of course we would turn it into a 7 day. Fly out on a Sunday and Return on Saturday. Right now we are looking at the Adventurer for that sweet 7 night out of San Juan. But that would be for November
