GottaCruz
Eating is a very large part of our cruise enjoyment. The friends that we are sailing with on the Enchantment feel the same way. I just found out that the Enchantment, like the Majesty does not have any place on the ship where you can get something to eat late at night. The only thing you can do is call room service. This might sound like a dumb question but My question is , can you ask room service to deliver your order to you at the pool deck ? Of all the cruises we've been on with Carnival , you can get pizza, ice cream, caesar salad , fruit punch , coffee and tea 24 hours a day so this is a huge change for us. On our Majesty cruise, you could only get a paper cup with water at the outdoor restaurant late at night. WE were shocked. We booked this cruise because I was very anxious to see the Enchantment- the water park, etc. I figured that since the Enchantment is a larger ship than the Majesty, there would probably be something to eat late at night. I know both ships do have that one night with the deck party where there is food but the other nights, none. You must think we're nuts that this is so important to us, but even at home, Wayne can't go to sleep without a late night snack so I'm wondering if we can just be a little creative and have room service deliver to us someplace other than our room, especially since we'll be with other couples . DennaBeana
When i was on the Enchanment there was one late night place to grab a snack. They had hamburgers, cheeseburgers and pizza. Tea, lemonaide and coffee. If I remember right it was the cafe at the Solarium. I just looked at my cruise compass, (I kept them all :) ) late night snacks 10:30- 4am and it is in the Solarium
GottaCruz
Wow, thanks so very much Denna. That should put Wayne in a better frame of mind for this cruise. Now I wonder why frostyboy, who just came back from the Enchantment, didn't know about that. Great news, Denna. Thanks again.
SCIROCCO
He probably didnt read the paper or was partying that late! LOL!
GottaCruz
frostyboy, any chance you might have been partying too much to miss the food that Denna mentioned above? Or, maybe you are just better behaved than we are concerning late night snacking. Now, I just hope the Enchantment didn't do away with the snacks that Denna mentioned??? DennaBeana
Well I hope that they haven't taken it away! And if they have it's been recently because I was just on that ship less than a year ago (8 months to be exact). It's small so maybe they just over looked it in the party mode they were in
sailinglisa
As of November, Royal Caribbean has NOT eliminated that late night option. They don't advertise it that much EXCEPT in the daily paper, but the food is available! And it is good. BTW - don't forget to talk a walk on the flybridges over the pool area.........you can't miss them. Even do it at night........a little romantic! GottaCruz
sailinglisa, so very glad to hear they still have that food. Those flybridges over the deck was one of the reasons we want to sail this ship. Sounds like an interesting deck with the water park thingy going on. NOw that you all have allayed our concerns about the late night food issue, we 're really looking forward to it. Thanks, everyone, for your responses. cherole
I'm guessing that late night snacking depends on your dinner hour, right? We would have late afternoon snacking (on Celebrity) between 3-5 p.m. such as sushi, tea snacks, hot dog bar, spa food snacks, etc. and then have dinner at 9:00. After that, no need for additional food. We skipped the nights when they had midnight chocolate and grand buffets. One really disgusting moment for me was after dinner, at 10:30 p.m., they had a pool party buffet with a Tex-Mex theme. I went out and ate tacos, etc. *after* my dinner !! What a glutton. But, I'm guessing that if you have a early dinner seating, the late night snack might be more interesting.
