  1. I LOVE the slot machines!! On the Carnival Pride and Fantasy, I played a slot machine called "Jackpot Party". There were bonus rounds where you could win extra coins. I LOVED that game!!

  5. Christmas ornaments and refrigerator magnets for me also. In our family room, we have a fiber optic palm tree. When we brought in the Christmas tree last night and pulled out the ornaments, I put all of my cruise ship ornaments on my palm tree; looks really cool!!
  6. In Deltona, Florida, last night at 5pm it was still 80 degrees and the air conditioning was running. By 8:30pm, it was 60 degrees! When we woke up this morning, it was 37 degrees outside and windy - cold!!!
  7. Jason - I totally agree with you!! Having been born and raised in Maryland, and living there for 28 years, and putting up with 12 degree winter days and nights, I simply won't complain about 40's or 60's. My husband, on the other hand, walks around complaining constantly about how cold it is. I love the change of weather and love the cold air...but hope it doesn't last much longer than through January!!
  8. We live about 25 miles south of Daytona Beach. Today it's in the low 80's, but we're getting that cold front and tomorrow's high is 60! Last Saturday, while we were decorating the outside of my mom's house, it was in the low 80's and sunny and we were miserably warm! So we did a little bit each afternoon this week on our own house so we didn't have to work in the heat anymore. The only thing left is the roof lights which my husband will put up tomorrow, and he'll probably be freezing while up on the roof!! Florida weather - you gotta love it!!
  9. Sorry to hear about not being able to sail on the Fantasy, but you are to be commended for your fantastic, positive attitude!! There will be many opportunities to take another cruise. We've sailed on the Fantasy twice; when you do sail on her, you will love it!! Best of luck with the dental procedure and hope you have a great holiday season!!
  10. My signature tells the story about our cruises. We hope that our next cruise is on Royal Caribbean; either the Sovereign or Mariner of the Seas. It's tough trying to book a cruise now that our son is in high school with block scheduling. We didn't mind him missing a couple days of school to go on a cruise in middle school; he's a straight A student and his teachers always worked well with us so he could make up the work. But now that he's in Honors classes in high school, we don't want him missing any school. I have a real problem paying the cruise prices for spring break, summertime and the Christmas holidays when I know what you can cruise for (a much lower amount!) during October and January. So...we have no idea when our next cruise will be... :(
  11. Gogetter - that sounds like fun; you'll have a great time! We went on the Sterling Casino ship in March. Like you said, we didn't gamble at all; not one dime. We sat on the open deck, had some drinks and enjoyed the ocean and fresh air. They actually had a pretty decent 3-piece reggae/steel drum band on there at that time, too. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and hope you have a great time!!
  12. When I was a little girl, our next door neighbors cruised twice a year. Back in those days (in the 60's), our neighbors could have friends on the ship right before they sailed for a bon voyage party. We would always go. We could go on the ship with them at noon, and had to be off one hour before the ship sailed. They always had the suite and would have hors d'ouevres and drinks. I can remember standing on the open deck by the railing and just falling in love with the concept of cruising!
  13. LOVE, LOVE the Fantasy!! We have sailed on her twice, most recently this past January. We did the 4-night both times and just loved it! We had a cat. 12 suite and we were definitely spoiled. Our cabin steward was great, the rest of the staff was great, the food was great; it was great!!
  14. We've only been to Nassau, Freeport, St. Thomas and St. Maarten, but without a doubt, hands down, St. Thomas is the most beautiful place we've ever seen!!
  15. With a regular camera, I tend to shoot about one roll a day. On a 4-day cruise, I come home with 4 rolls of film. On a 7-day cruise, I come home with 7 or 8 rolls of film. I also take tons and tons of digital photos, which I immediately start e-mailing to people when we get back home. I have a huge photo album for each cruise that I fill with all of the photos. We will also come home with a video from the cruise, anywhere from 1-2 hours in length.
  16. As my signature shows, we were on the Atlantic twice and on the Fantasy twice. I LOVE repeating a ship; everything is immediately familiar!!
  17. Definitely early mornings! I wake up every morning at 6am when on a cruise and go out on the balcony. It's breathtaking!!
  18. Too Funny...we added Las Vegas at the same exact time... Okay... St. Thomas...
  19. We have either bright neon pink duct tape wrapped around the handle of the suitcase, or I bought two of those big red, white and blue dice that people hang on their mirrors in their cars and have them tied around the suitcase. Those big dice worked great when we got off the Fantasy; we spotted our luggage immediately!!
