We live about 4 hours from Miami and want to drive down to the port one weekend and spend the night near the port so we can watch the cruise ships pull out of port (what a sight that must be!). I know there are several Cruise Crazies who live in the Miami area, so I'm asking for your help. Can you help me with the names of the hotels that are closest to the port? I keep a written journal for each and every trip we take; whether it be a trip to the beach or on a cruise. I take just a few minutes every evening, when we are on vacation, to write down what we did that day. I keep a separate photo album for each vacation we take, and at the very back of the photo album, after the last picture, I put in the pages with my daily notes, so that I have a day-by-day account of what we did on the vacation. It is always wonderful to sit down and read them, too!!

I watched it last night also; what a fantastic show! I am especially enjoying it because we hope to sail on the Sovereign one day!!

I LOVE Speed 2!! The special effects at the end of the movie are unbelievable!!

A balcony is a MUST for us! We have taken 7 cruises; on the last 2, we had a suite with a private balcony and we all agreed we can never go back. We can't cruise as often as we'd like with our son in high school on block scheduling, so in between we take 3 and 4-night vacations (about 4 a year) and we always have to be oceanfront with a private balcony. We spend TONS of time on the balcony and feel it is worth every penny for us! We are booked on the Carnival Fantasy in November, in a cat. 12 suite with a private balcony...and we can't wait!!

We have our 8th cruise booked for November on the Fantasy. We also love Carnival! We can't cruise as often as we'd like, because we like to get a suite with a private balcony, which costs a little more, but we LOVE the private balcony. Living in central Florida only 20 minutes from the coastline, we take lots of vacations in between the cruises, always going to the beach, staying in an oceanfront condo with a private balcony...that's how we get our "water fix" in between cruises. We are very excited about our Fantasy cruise, staying in a cat. 12 suite with a balcony...and we can't wait!!!

Dan - YOU GOT THAT RIGHT! I'm embarrassed that I didn't even put Kenny's CD on my list of songs, along with Buffett and Marley. I am Kenny Chesney's BIGGEST fan; have every CD he has ever put out . I've always loved the island influence that comes across in his songs from time to time, like "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem" and "When the Sun Goes Down". When I started reading about this CD he was about to put out, I couldn't wait to hear it. I preordered it and had it playing on my stereo within 5 minutes of it being delivered to my door. The entire CD is simply fantastic. "Be As You Are" and "Somewhere in the Sun" are my theme songs! "She's From Boston" is about a girl whose living the life I wish I could live; left home, moved to the islands, working in a jewelry store by the harbor. "Magic" explains exactly how wonderful it is in the islands. "Soul of a Sailor" explains just how I feel about being on the water. "Guitars and Tiki Bars" also explains how I feel about life! I could go on and on with each and every song...but I won't!!
