  1. The song is "Rock You Like a Hurricane" by the Scorpions. They were a huge band in the 1980's. My husband and I were dating in the 80's and his favorite band was the Scorpions so I heard this song alot!!!
  2. Thank you for your responses. We have sailed the Fantasy a couple of times, and on each cruise, we docked differently! Thanks a bunch for your help!
  3. I have a question for anyone who has sailed the Carnival Fantasy recently. I know that Kathijo just sailed on her a few weeks ago, so maybe she can help. Here's my question: We are about to book a Carnival Fantasy cruise for November. We are booking a cat. 12 suite so we will have our own balcony. We also were in a cat. 12 suite when we sailed on her the past two times. I want to know how the Fantasy docked at Nassau and Freeport; which way she was facing in port. We are trying to figure out what side of the ship will have the best view when in the ports, so we can have a nice view from our balcony. I know this is subject to change, but I am just wondering. Thanks anyone for any help you can give me! Have a great day! Dawn
  4. We've sailed out of Port Canaveral 6 times, with 3 of those times being on Carnival ships. We have always been on the ship by noon!! The embarkation times listed in the Carnival brochure have never been correct with any cruise we took.
  5. We are considering the Sovereign for our next cruise; please write a review and tell us all about it!! Hope you had a great time!!
  6. Gogetter - I would have loved to have sailed with you and met a fellow Cruise Crazie! And we do LOVE the Fantasy. BUT...every October, we take our 5-night trip to Treasure Island; already have the reservations made, etc. Would have loved to have joined you though!
  7. Bon Voyage!! Be sure and check out one spot on the ship; it's a great spot to sit, relax, and look at the ocean; when you go to the buffet restaurant, there are tables outside of the restaurant on each side of the ship and to the back of the ship. LOVE this place!! Have a great time, and be sure and tell us all about it when you return. Hope you can post some pictures, too!!
  8. Glad you were able to get on the ship this weekend!! Have a great cruise!! Bon Voyage!!
  9. We have never sailed on Royal Caribbean; plan on trying them for our next cruise. My husband wants to give them a try; I, however, say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". We have always been so satisifed with Carnival; truly a wonderful experience for us everytime!!
  10. We have taken one on the last 3 cruises; hanging it over the inside of the bathroom door!! It worked fantastic and I'd never take another cruise without it!!
  11. DaCruzNut - What a great view you had from your bedroom!!! Yep, I LOVE lighthouses, in fact, I have a 4' red and white lighthouse in my front yard that I light all night long; it's really beautiful. I also collect lighthouse figurines and have about 50 of them. I'm not far from Daytona Beach, so we often ride up to Ponce Inlet so I can see the Ponce Inlet lighthouse! Lighthouses are really quite beautiful, aren't they!?
  12. Definitely the lighthouse at the port of Nassau!!! I am a lighthouse fanatic and I have tons of pictures of this lighthouse!!! What a beautiful picture!
  13. Gogetter - The Island Inn's webpage is www.islandinnresort.com and that website has the up-to-date rates, etc.!! Let me know if you guys plan a trip there; I'd love to hear your thoughts when you return home!
  14. Good morning, gogetter! A beautiful rainy morning here today, huh? Ahhhhhhh, the St. Pete/Treasure Island area - we simply love it!!! Yes, it is Robby's Pancake House that we love. The breakfast is fantastic!! We also liked to go there for dinner; they had THE best bacon-wrapped scallops in Hollandaise sauce! Unfortunately, they now close around 2pm or so, and they no longer have those types of things on their menu. Oh well...the breakfast is still great! We always stay at this great hotel in Treasure Island called the Island Inn!!! If you're looking for a fancy, upscale resort, this place is NOT for you! But if you are looking for great accomodations, gulffront, CLEAN, extremely friendly and accomodating staff, this is it! If you go to www.tripadvisor.com and type in Treasure Island, Florida, you can read all about the Island Inn, see pictures, and read many reviews that people have submitted. It is rated the third best hotel out of the 21 hotels on Treasure Island!! Also, if you go to http://www.suncoastaccommodations.com/islandinn/index.html and click on Virtual Tours, you can look at their rooms, and the tiki bar/pool/beach area. If you like to cook out, they also have grills lined up just on the other side of the seawall for you to use, and they have volleyball nets, too. It's just a great place to spend some relaxing time at the beach!! Hope this has helped!
  15. I was wondering when you two would be returning home. I'm sorry you have to return to the "real world"...it is hard to do after a cruise, isn't it!? I'm glad you had a great time, and look forward to seeing your photos!!
  16. The article in the Carnival Currents stated that the CDs are $14.99 on the website and $16.99 if you buy them on the islands; it didn't say anything about selling them on the ships themselves. Glad you enjoyed the music; it is wonderful, isn't it!?
  17. Just received the Carnival Currents magazine, and in it is an advertisement for Carnival's collection of steel drum music. There's 10 different CDs with general songs, including songs by Jimmy Buffett and Bob Marley, plus 2 Christmas CDs. I've had a blast listening to these and just thought I'd share the website; there's lots of great steel drum music to choose from!! Here's the site: www.TropicalMusicInternational.com Go listen, and enjoy!!
  18. BEAUTIFUL pictures!! Thanks so much for taking the time to post them!!!
  19. I'm so sorry to hear about your problems but as you said...glad to hear the plant was closed and no one was hurt! I'm sure you will do whatever it takes to get on that ship!!! Have a safe trip down here to Orlando!!!! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and have a fantastic cruise!!
  20. This is on my Christmas list...and if my husband knows what's good for him, I'd better get it!!
  21. WOW! I loved all three of these bands; even saw REO and Journey in concert back then. If Steve Perry was still with Journey, I'd be ready to book this cruise in a minute...but I LOVED Steve Perry, and without him, well...let's just say I'd want to see Steve Perry! This will be an AWESOME cruise though!!
  22. Your photos are gorgeous!! I looked at all of your photo albums, and was fascinated by them. Thanks so much for posting them for us to enjoy!!
  23. Welcome to the boards!! My sister sailed to Alaska this past summer on the Carnival Spirit, and said the scenery was breathtaking! Again, welcome!
  24. My motto in life is "Where the ocean meets the sky, my heart is at peace". I also have a TRUE LOVE for the ocean and nothing satisfies me more than being on a cruise, standing on deck, looking in all 4 directions and seeing nothing but water!
  25. St. Thomas - my favorite port; absolutely breathtaking!!! Be sure and take the gondolas (about a block away from the port) up to the top of Paradise Point. The view will just blow you away; be sure and take your camera and plenty of film!!
