  2. Good grief, I'd better not let my husband hear about this lime/Corona policy; I will never be able to get him on another Carnival ship, seriously! I loved the pictures; thanks for posting them! Dawn
  3. Here's another article I just found... March 23, 2006 Fire Aboard Star Princess Leaves One Dead One passenger died and several others were injured when a fire broke out aboard Star Princess early this morning. According to a statement on Princess' Web site, the ship was making its way from Grand Cayman to Montego Bay when the fire broke out at approximately 3 a.m. and quickly spread to adjacent cabins. One passenger died following a cardiac arrest, while two passengers suffered "significant smoke inhalation injuries" and nine others experienced "minor complications resulting from smoke inhalation." All injured passengers are now in stable condition in the ship's medical center. As soon as the fire was detected, ship staff made an announcement over the public address sytem and all passengers reported to their muster stations, where everyone onboard was accounted for. Family members of passengers currently onboard can call the following number for more information: 1-800-693-7222. Princess has not yet determined the cause of the fire, which started in one stateroom and spread to several adjacent ones, but the line confirms that the fire has been completely extinguished. CNN has reported that as many as 100 cabins may have been affected. Princess notes that a bit of residual smoke still remains in the affected area of the ship. Star Princess is now in Montego Bay undergoing damage assessment. The ship departed Ft. Lauderdale on March 19 on a Western Caribbean itinerary scheduled to call at Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay and Princess Cays. There's no word yet on how the itinerary will be affected, but we'll keep you posted.

  5. WOW! I'd like to have one of those beautiful red and blue funnels in my front yard; maybe a smaller version though! Thanks for posting! Dawn
  6. We have sailed the Fantasy twice and absolutely love her! I hope you have a wonderful time as well. Give us a review when you return, okay? Bon Voyage!!
  7. Keith & Rita - I'm not surprised the braids are out already. I've had braids put in my hair twice while on a cruise, kept them in while on the cruise but the minute we walked in the door, I had to get them out; head was scratching and itching like crazy and to take the braids out and wash my hair felt terrific!! You are right though; that would have spruced up the look at the jail!! Congrats to Rita on her new job; hope it goes well. Thanks for the reply. Dawn
  8. I just LOVED all of your photos; I've looked at them twice. I was blown away by the damage to Cozumel; very sad. And Rita...just LOVE your hair! Is it still like that or have you had to wash it already? Cool look on you though!! Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures. I can see that you two had a wonderful time. Welcome home and happy new year to you both! Dawn

  14. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your cruise photos!! I particularly loved the shots of the water; just gorgeous, and those beautiful sunsets. I just really enjoyed looking at all of the pictures, and the two of you...well...you just look like a couple of really nice, pleasant guys. I'm so happy the two of you had such a wonderful time! 16. Your review was wonderful! Thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I'm so glad you and your wife had a nice time!! Take care. Dawn
  17. Gogetter - You mentioned two of my biggest pet peeves! I hate people who try to push themselves onto an elevator while people are trying to get off. Wouldn't it make more sense to let the people off first...and then there'd be plenty of room for people to get on!!! Drives me crazy! You also mentioned people slamming doors. I've never understood why people can't hold the door so it doesn't slam, or simply turn the doorknob. My husband and son are well aware that slamming doors drive me insane; I've trained them well because they always turn the doorknob so the door doesn't slam. Actually in public places, it is just common courtesy to the people around you to not slam the door! Loved your mini-review and anxiously await the whole review being posted! Dawn
  18. Gogetter - Our vacation in St. Pete/Treasure Island, as always, was just fantastic; beautiful weather and beautiful scenery. We did really miss Robby's Pancake House though; could always count on that place for a great breakfast. It had a sign up saying that it would be opening soon as the "Sour Dough Grille". We booked our trip for next October like we always do, plus we booked 3 nights in January so we are really, really excited about going back there in just a couple of months! Thanks so much for asking; very kind of you to remember! Take care. Dawn
  19. So happy to hear from you and I can't wait to read your review. I watched the Glory pull out of Port Canaveral on the web cam when you were sailing on her and I thought, "Yep, there goes the Gogetter". Glad you're back and can't wait to read your review! Dawn
