  1. "The First day of the cruise, what is your favourite part of waiting, is it the drive to the airport, is it the waiting in the airport, is it waking up that moring (if you can get to sleep), is it loading the plane, or aboard the plane, or waiting in the cruise terminal? Once you are aboard, is it the first time in your cabin, the fire drill, exploring the vesses, or the first dinner, the first sleep aboard? What is your favourite part, Why? " Favorite part before cruise is planning it, deciding, when and where to go Favorite part during it is when we're driving up to the pier and I see the ship for the first time Other favorites are: waiting for DOCS to arrive so it will seem real, meeting other great cruisers and seeing all the happy faces, talking to crew members....the list goes on.......
  2. I didn't see it....was I looking in the wrong place?
  3. We, also, just started cruising late in life......this year. So far I've been on 3 (DH has been on 2) and we've got another coming up in 2 1/2 weeks. Gotta make up for lost time! We've got a great pool and deck out back so when we're not cruisin we hang out there and play Carribean music and dream of the next cruise  At this point we'd rather use our money for cruises instead of land vacations....
  4. Hmmmm.......not go because of cabin type?......just get me on the ship and I'm happy most anywhere!
  5. Superb!.......congratulations! We're going on that cruise in abt 2 1/2 weeks and thinking abt doing it again in Sept. (can't beat those military discounts! ....$649 pp for a balcony room, 8 nights  )
  6. The 1st time we were on the Zenith we had a small porthole and it was our first cruise so everything was perfect, of course  The 2nd cruise was on the Connie and, with the large window and mirrors the length of the room, it seemed soooo much larger. There was a loveseat and desk with a small table between in front of the window. The setup worked really well for us. The last Zenith cruise the room setup was the same but it seemed cramped (maybe because of no natural light?). We'll be going on the legend in a few weeks ...185 sq ft room with balcony........hope I don't get spoiled forever on that! I've got a pic somewhere of the Connie room....
  7. We thought the layout of the oceanview room on the Constellation was wonderful and didn't seem cramped at all.....
  8. Since ANY cruise is a good cruise, it's hard writing negatives. The service was so good in the restaurant, bars and casual dining that it more than made up for the so-so stateroom service....hence the excellent rating. The passengers are a small part of the cruise and we still managed to meet some really nice people.
  9. Another consideration is that Carnival leaves from NYC so you could probably drive there. Royal Carribean & Celebrity leave from Bayonne, NJ. We live in VT and it's a 5 hour drive for us to either NJ or NY but worth it if we don't have to pay for airfare since we have more money for cruises
  10. We're sailing on the Carnival Legen in 3 weeks and I read in my docs that they put a hold on your credit card if you're using that. It depends on the length of the cruise but for an 8 night cruise it's $400 pp. If you're paying with cash they require cash up front and when you reach the limit you're shut off until you put more in your account. With Celebrity you could check your account on the in-cabin tv or ask for a printout from the guest relations desk.
  11. Thanks all! And yes, we had great weather and St George was awesome! We did hear from our waiter that the weather on the last cruise was pretty bad. There was only one day of rough weather and it was when we were headed back. Unfortunately quite a few passengers and crew were seasick. I was so happy that Mom wasn't bothered but I made sure she took Bonine several hours before the ship sailed.
  12. I'm adancin' with you! Have a super cruise and enjoy the countdown!
  13. Wow! Mom and I just got back from a superb cruise on the Zenith to Bermuda and when we got home today the docs were here for our June cruise on the Carnival Legend!........life is good! I haven't gotten my bearings yet from the last cruise but I've started doin the doc dance..........anyone wanna join me?
  14. Thanks all!....just trying to get last minute stuff done before Mom arrives. We leave around 8 tomorrow morning and we're going to try the Newark Best western (they have a park/stay/cruise package). Expect a report on that also when I get back
  15. Hope you have a super cruise!.......and can't wait to hear your thoughts after you get back.
  16. Thanks so much! Seems unbelievable that we'll be on the Zenith in just 2 days! Hubby isn't too happy to be stayin home with the pups and playin Carribean music by the pool. Are we true CruiseCrazies?.....we just finished booking an 8 night cruise June 21st on Carnival's Legend. They have such a huge military discount that we just couldn't pass it up!....
  17. I just booked a Carnival cruise directly with them...got their military discount and saved hundreds! It was the same as vacations to go price but a better cabin. Haven't had any luck with local travel agents getting the best deals. I've also used Expedia and cruisecompete agent.
  18. I checked out the virtual tour on RCL's website...argh!......I suppose if you had small kids or teenagers it might appeal. The Millie class ships are about as big as we want to go but who knows.....
  19. Hope you get to leave all the nasty east coast weather behind you and enjoy sunny skies and balmy breezes!
  20. Hope you have an absolutely terrific cruise!......and take care of the Zenith for us as we'll be getting on after you get off.
  21. We, also, would hate to see the smaller ships edged out! While we loved the Constellation, the Zenith has a special place in our hearts and we continue to look for cruises on her for the future....
  22. Eagle_Forest, lucky you....only nine days to go! Howard, can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Crown Princess....we're considering her for a cruise.
  23. Thanks all!.........and I'm still adancin'!
  24. I'm excited...seems like it took forever to get them this time.....I'll be dancin' the night away!
