  7. Our first cruise was last Feb....I was 52, DH was 59. Since then we've been on 5 more with the next one coming up in 10 days....guess you could say we're making up for lost time since we started so late in life
  8. I always stuck to blackjack when we went to the casinos in CT. On the ships I find I'm drawn to the slot machines. On the last cruise I hit a machine for $380. What I ended up doing, though, was play the slots until I'd lost my alotted money and then went to the blackjack table. I'd win there and then take my winnings to the slots and lose it My husband kept telling me to stick with BJ but, darn, I do enjoy the slots
  9. I hear ya!......I've got 12 days to go and the time sure is dragging!
  10. Hmmmm....since I love cruising, this was a tough one....but I actually came up with 2. (1)I really dislike dieting after the cruise is over to drop the pounds I gained at the buffet. It was especially hard this year since we went on 6 cruises and it seemed like I spent the year dieting. (2) Unpacking.......my cure for that is to just put all the dirty clothes in one bag and keep everything else packed to we can leave "spur of the moment"
  11. We've just been back home for 2 days so no chance to write a review but I'll give a quick rundown of the high and low points.... Great ship....pretty and clean Superb crew....some of the friendliest ones we've encountered S. Caribbean ports ...gorgeous with great beaches (loved Cane Garden Bay in Tortola and Grand Anse Beach in Grenada) Food....wasn't impressed. Buffet food was barely lukewarm and meats were tough. Main dining rooms...food was good but I thought selections were limited. The good part of this was that I only gained a pound instead of my usual 5 pounds  Musical entertainment.... superb band in Galaxy of the Stars each night Overall we were pleasantly surprised by NCL and would definately sail that line again
  12. You'd think, with all the cruises we've managed to go on this year, that the excitement level would be less......it's not. I'll come on and post a review of the Spirit after we return.
  13. This is too cool......down to 1 day before NCL Spirit cruise and 99 days til Carnival Legend cruise.......life is good!
  14. We saw lots of them from our balcony on the E Caribbean cruise. My camera wasn't quick enough to catch them (or maybe the problem was me LOL)
  15. Thanks for all those wonderful Bon Voyages......however, we'll be sailing on the NCL Spirit for 11 days instead of the Constellation (I forgot to have the Constellation cruise taken off the calendar until a few days ago). This NCL cruise was a last minute deal (only booked it a couple weeks ago). We did love the Connie and hopefully, we'll get to sail on her again someday. To all others going on a cruise this week, hope you enjoy the heck out of it!
  16. I went to an estate sale yesterday....about 25 miles from here and there was actually snow on the ground  .....get me outta here!
  17. It's a rough life.......but someone's gotta do it
  18. Thanks all!...sometimes I feel terribly cruise-spoiled. Who would have ever thought when I first posted in this forum that I'd soon be headed out on my 6th cruise within a yr.
  19. Don't even have to work that hard at packing as I still hadn't finished unpacking from the cruise 2 1/2 weeks ago LOL
  20. Wow, can't believe we're already in the single digit status for the next cruise. Can't wait to get out of Vermont.........today torrential downpours and high winds.........and did I say COLD?
  21. I'll let you know after we come back from 11 days on the Spirit (Oct 29-Nov 9)
  22. First let me say that we, also were first time cruisers this past Feb....now we're thoroughly hooked and are about to leave on our 6th cruise......this year! So......be warned......cruising can be very addicting. Next, check to see if you're eligible for any military rates......Carnival (and some other lines) has incredible deals for active and retired military. We ended up paying only $68 per person a day on the upcoming cruise including taxes and port fees and we've got a top level balcony cabin! Any lastly......read all the reviews to get an idea which ships and cruises might be right for you (but don't believe everything you read...2 people on the exact same cruise can have totally opposite views on how good or bad a cruise was). Just enjoy and don't sweat the small things.....cruising is incredible!
  23. We've started a cruise map and still need to find the Zenith and Constellation plastic ship ornaments (got one on the Carnival Legend for our map from their gift shop onboard). If anyone has one of either of these or would be willing to pick them up for us on a cruise, we sure would appreciate it and be willing to prepay for them.
  24. What a fun, relaxing cruise that was! For the first time we had an aft extended balcony cabin and I just wanted to share with all of you the splendid view we had.....
  25. Dancin with ya!....always exciting to get the docs and you got a double good whammy with your son's team win!
