JoeyandDavid
A strong earthquake rumbled in the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday and was felt across the southeastern United States, the U.S. Geological Service said. The quake, with a magnitude of 6.0, came from about 6.2 miles (10km) below the Gulf surface, about 250 miles south-southwest of Apalachicola, Florida. The quake, which hit at 10:56 a.m. EDT (1456 GMT), was felt in parts of Florida, Georgia and Alabama. There were no reports of damage or casualties. The USGS said there was no danger of a tsunami. SCIROCCO
Do you think it could be drilling on the ocean floors and the volcano activities there?

zebra
Checking in!! Fortunately we were on the east coast of Florida at my daughter's in Melbourne again this weekend. Have only got back to Tampa at 2:30 pm. Didn't feel a thing!!! Nothing at home shows that there was any movement either. Thank the Lord! wonderful news that it didn't trigger a Tsunami. We did see the Atlantis launch yesterday though and that was a real rumble on the ground, it's quite spectacular to watch.

sailingrose
Glad to hear all is OK Jackie. A shuttle launch is still pretty special. Too bad I forgot about this one. Thanks for the reminder Joey that it was Jackie in Tampa, I knew someone here was from that coast.

GottaCruz
Glad none of you felt it. Our local news channel said that some here in Broward County felt it very slightly. We didn't, though.
