We are going on a cruise next month w/ friends and if for some reason they decided not to go I would feel a little bad but would certainly go regardless. The situation you described is family so its a bit different. Its too bad they all backed out. Did they think they could get any money back after cancelling one day B4? I wonder if any cruise line would provide any amt. or % of a refund for a documented emergency, like a medical emergency which caused a cancellation one day B4 embarkation? But for this, just changing ones mind I would have to say they have no case at all. Too bad really.

Heck - you could even use their empty cabin to store all those souvenirs lol. No way would I miss out lol.

I'd be on the ship so fast and waving bye bye to them (figuratively speaking.) You don't want to go and lose your money, fine, but hey....GET ME ON THE SHIP!!!!! I would NOT feel guilty leaving anyone behind. They are the ones losing out, not me.
