wow!! What a great, tough question!....

I am far from an expert....... but the one thing i do believe is true, the earlier you can book your cruise, the more options you have as far as cabin location and availability.. and even on the high seas.. it is still IMHO about location location location!

case in point... our CruiseCrazies group cruise "Connie Goes Crazier" where a good number of us were able to capture the coveted Aft cabins..

Excellent and serious question. I would say do your homework. I mean look up as much about the ship as you can ahead of time. My boss is talking a cruise for the first time and I want to scream sometimes because he knows nothing!! Not even the ship, when it leaves, etc. He let someone else book it and when I ask him about particulars he seems to want to wing it. For me thats unthinkable. So do your homework and go prepared. You'll be alot happier.

:cool2: Great topic. OK, my question would be " What's a nice spot to have a quiet cocktail with a friend or loved one?"

Answer, " I love going to the Viking Crown Lounge on RC about 9:00 to 11:00 before the late night crowds get there. I get my Baileys on the rocks and sit by the windows looking out over the pool area and just unwind and they usually have a band playing quietly, sometimes a little jazz. It's great, I wish i were there now. :cool2:

Wow! This opens up many answers. In my case the questions would be:

I'm a poor traveller and will get sea-sick. Answer: As long as you keep active you'll be fine.

Not my kind of food. Answer: You can get virtually anything you like 24 hours a day.

Stuck in one place with thousands of people. Answer: On every ship you will find somewhere quiet whether this is inside or on an outside deck. One only notices the amount of people at embarkation and disembarkation.

I could go on but those questions have been asked of me by people who were contemplating their first cruise.

Regards,

James.

We have one friend in particular who has a million and one reasons why he won't cruise. These are some of the questions that he has asked.

Q: You must have a lot of money. Isn't that quite expensive?

A: No, where else can you get exquisite dining, accommodations, and transportation for about $100/day?

Q: Don't you get bored?

A: Actually, it's more like summer camp for us. We both get to do what we enjoy and know that our significant other is having a wonderful vacation as well.

Q: Don't you feel confined?

A: While the rooms can be small and the bathrooms even smaller, I have to admit that we don't spend that much time in them. We have treated ourselves to a balcony so that we have more space. There are many areas inside and outside of this floating vessel that one can easily go to when feeling particulary confined.

I'll have to think of some other ones and post later.
