DH has two more years to work and then we will have the freedom to go but until then only 1 per year for now.

Interesting read. I believe from just our experience here at cruise crazies what "talk" can do to promote future cruising so it would only benefit the cruise lines to develope their own sites. Sites like this one will remain because of the personal aspect we each bring to the board.

This is a tip: If you want to give your waiter or steward a tip that will not be put in a general pool ....hand them an international calling card so they can call home. I heard this during our last cruise and will make sure I have some on hand this year. Just imagine the smile on their face. :smiley:

I have not been on this ship but we did the Southern Caribbean last year and loved it. You can look up the ship you are considering and check out the public rooms to see if they are to your liking. Once of our criteria is the ship must have an aft deck to sit on so we can watch the wake. Check out this ship to see if it has some of the things you are looking for. As for a cmofortable bed you may want to check and see if they have mattress pads like Princess does. This made the bed sooooo much more comfortable, but we had to ask ahead of time because they don't have them for every cabin. Hopefully someone on this board will have sailed on your choice and they will have some answers for you. Happy Planning.

This one is probably familiar but for the newbies you don't have to bring an alarm clock. Just leave a wake up call on your phone. For us it is hard to sleep with the phone ringing ! We try to book an aft cabin right next to a deck with chairs. If the food cafe is on the other side of the ship you can order room service and then take it out on the deck away from the crowds.

The very elderly are an inspiration to us as we are 55 & 59 and we see so many older couples still have fun dancing etc. I don't ever want to give up cruising and just want to sail into the sunset. :smiley:

The ships medical facility has had free samples sitting out like asprin, bonnin etc. upon arrival so if you think you might need them later check this out right away as samples are only put out once. I'm not sure if all ships do this?

Princess charges for ice cream except you can order it during dinner and go to the food court at 3:30 everyday and get it for free. :smiley:

Question....they don't ask you to spend it in the casino? Say I need extra money (cash) for an excursion?

Thanks Howard for posting your pixs. It looks like Princess is following suit with their newer ships. I love the MUTS theater outside and the aft pool. The ship looks similar to the Star in many respects. I'm looking forward to going. :smiley:
