I'll have to check with Jennifer to get an accurate count, but as far as I know we are up to 20, and we still have 9 months to go. Again anyone out there who wants to join us there is time, I should check on cabin availability!!!
-
Teacp - Just a quick question, then it's off to work, were your friends able to decide on joining us?
-
JoeyandDavid I just looked at your web site, nice job on the group cruise, it looks very interesting!!! I'll have Karen look at it and see what she says, the only problem that I have is scheduling vacation. My work place is getting ready to change how vacation is scheduled, due to go into effect Jan 2007.
-
And you know what that means, THE MORE THE MERRIER!!!!!
-
Just a bump to let everyone know we are still hoping that more will join us!!!!!
-
I have a web site that I go to called www.bermudashorts.bm it gives all sorts of information!
-
Gymbrat the pictures were great, it looked as though you had the same type of weather we had - Fantastic!!! I have to say that was the first time that I actually saw the gym on the Valor

Ours was for our 25th Wedding, 1/09/05 thru 1/16/05, we had the exact same itinerary as you. We are on our third month using the card and have approximately 16,000 points, of course the first 5,000 were on them, but we pay for everything with it now. No more cash, no more checks, and when people see the card they just smile  Paying it on line and keeping up with it I haven't paid a single finance charge.

Gymbrat33 Seems as if you liked the Valor as much as we did. It was our first cruise and we were very impressed with the ship and crew. It seems that your only complaint(and minor at that) was that your dinner staff wasn't that talkative, ours talked to us the whole time and proved to be very interesting!!! Now we only have what we would consider a fantastic trip to compare everything else with  Chris ps you also mentioned the Sea Miles Card, we signed up for it and have been getting points for the last couple of months, I'll update you on that when the time comes. Anyone else out there have one? And if you do have you used it yet for discounted or free cruises?

Welcome Mookster I agree with Joey(and David Too), holidays seem to book early and looking for the 3rd and 4th in a cabin also limits your choices. There are a lot of options out there it just takes some investigating! Chris

Hi Terri, Having put together a group just recently, by myself w/o a TA, I can tell you that yes it takes a minimum of eight cabins to be considered a group with most of the lines. Once you have booked the eight cabins you will be eligable for extras, it depends on the line, of ship board credit or free wine or something of that nature. Our group recieved a $75 per cabin ship board credit(in other words the first 15 drinks are on them). For every eight cabins that you book (this is with Carnival) they give back the cost of one fare, with out port charges or taxes. This is paid back to the group coordinator who would in turn split it with the rest of the group, but not until everything is completely paid. Again in our case the the amount being given back is $430 split up between eight cabins or about $53 per cabin. Hope I haven't confused you.

Our next is to Bermuda with 8 cabins booked so far, four with our local friends and relatives, the other four with our on line friends from Cruise Crazies  There is still room on the ship for more!!! Tut pm 1959Kar she can give you all sorts of info on the graphics and sites to post them! She's trying to teach me how to do it but as she says I'm MALE
-
Seems like my wife is posting at the same time as I am

I'm a civil servent and usually have four to six weeks of vacation, but since we are shift workers we can swap shifts, work double shifts or our days off to take time off when we need it. Someday I'll explain what I do for a living
-
You couldn't squeeze on more short one in? We would be more than happy to have you as we have been enjoying your posts as of late. On a more serious side, we've already been talking about 2007 and where to go next, and I am one to think about things in advance as I have to arrange my work schedule. The only time that is never going to work for us is Christmas time, 1959KAR(Karen, my wife) owns a store in town and about 40 percent of the years business is done between Thanksgiving and Jan 1st. But right after that we are out of here if we get a chance  the rates on cruises are good then too.

Where there is a will there is a way!!! They do have a price for single but it isn't cheap. There is time to look for a traveling companion, although I'm not sure how you would want to go about doing that. You are more than welcome to join us!!!
-
Here is a bump and some extra information-Jennifer stated that if anyone was still interested she would hold the price for us as long as she can!!!
-
We are offically a group according to Carinval  There have been eight cabins booked, anyone else interested? Have to head out to work now, put in the hours so I can go and play later
-
It's been awhile since I've updated any info on this cruise, so here it is, we have one more week for the fixed price(as stated earlier in this thread). After that anyone is more than welcome to join us, the more the merrier, but you will be at the mercy of price changes(good or bad) and the chance of not getting the type of cabin that you want.
-
Just recieved our booking number - Yea!!! 323 days and counting.
-
Congrats Lisa - I think that you're only about a 1/3 of the way there  The rest comes after the cruise and by then you have all those memories to help with payments.
-
Mebert I was just looking at some of the last posts and you said you couldn't commit this early, take your time, I'm sure that someone could find room in their suitcase for you.
-
Well when I originally set this up it was just going to be Karen and myself along with our youngest, thought that a triple would be just fine. Talked to a few friends and they said they might want to go, contacted Jason to see if we could post it here and invite anyone else who was interested to join in. I just booked three (3) cabins today!!!! At least booking early gives me a chance to get a third or fourth job to help pay for this and I will really needa a vacation by then.

Gogetter-Sorry to hear that you had so much trouble with your Carnival pvp, I've had the exact opposite with mine, she is fantastic. As a matter of fact she helped out with our CC group cruise to Bermuda. Granted she doesn't always answer her phone but she will get back to you if you leave a message. From what she said it is easier to get through earlier in the day then say after 4pm, seems like everyone is getting out of work and that is their busy time. You have to remember with any large business like that you will get one or two that just don't want to go the extra distance for you. Another suggestion is next time you call, ask for a supervisor and explain the situation, it maybe the only way to change it. Jennifer Martins 1-800-8193902-ext 82965 is ours!!!

Teacp-great to hear that you are thinking about joining us, this should be a great trip, and don't worry about Jennifer returning your call. We play a game called phone tag, I'll call her and leave a message, she'll call back and I'll be gone and she'll leave a message untill we actually connect. Right now she is IT. Sometime in the near future we'll have a roll call of everyone that has signed on. Chris H
