DaCruzNut
I still love the smaller ships, in the 45,000 grt range, such as The Holiday. Really enjoy ships like the Horizon, Zenith, Century.... However, as much as I love her, the Regal Empress seems a little too small. Unfortunately, with fuel costs rising the way they are, Mega-ships are the wave of the future. It only takes a little more fuel to move a 160,000 grt ship than it does a 70,000 grt ship. Thefrefore, the cost per passenger drops proportionately. What with fuel being the cruise lines #1 expense....
schatje
So far we have enjoyed the mid class ships but will be going on the Star Princess in December which is suppose to be bigger. As to what category of ship we like we have determined that we will not book a ship that does not have an aft deck to watch the wake. I have been doing some research and there are very few. Princess is our best option right now.
Longboysfan
Century series seems to fit us best. Just enough room to move about without getting leg weary going from place to place.
boba
 I liked Voyager of the Seas both times I was on her. The only other ship I've been on is Norwegian Majesty (42,000 tons) and it seemed a little small and a lot less options, although I did enjoy it and Bermuda.
GottaCruz
We like the features of the larger ships- such as that nice, quiet pool area in the back of the Triumph and Destiny ships where you can sleep or read in peace. HOwever, I have a hard enough time finding my way around on the smaller ships. On the smaller ships that we go on such as the Fascination, we can keep track of DD much easier. For us, we pick the date and whatever ship leaves on that date, we take.

jacketwatch
 As a new cruiser I think I'll have more to say after our August trip on the Tahitian Princess which is a small ship, about 700 ft. long and with a passenger capacity of about 600 I think. it will be our first time on a "smaller" ship. We are looking forward to the small ship ambience and feel. We cruised on the Sapphire Princess which is of course large at about 117K tons and about 962 ft. long. However it didn't seem that crowded at all. If it is designed well with lots of diverse activities to see then it seems the crowds are dispersed. Maybe that is just the point however. That is that many people constitute a crowd no matter how you slice it vs. the more personal feel of smaller ships. We'll see.
Longboysfan
Have been on the bigger ships. Like the smaller ones. Yes. You do tend to run into people more on the smaller ships. Yes. There is way more to do on the mega ships. At this point the wife and I like the Century class ships. Just big enough to offer a lot of both sides. We have cruised on the old Volendam and Veendam - back in the later 70's. So we know what small is.
