  1. Welcome Home Slainte!! Glad the weather food ect was good & that you had a nice time, it's amazing what you will remember about that cruise in the future!!
  2. I feel for the Honeymoon couple it is such a shame they cannot be placed onto a different ship instead of the refund but there's not a lot one can do if the ship needs work on?
  3. TUT congrats on getting your docs - Doing the doc dance with you!!
  4. Have a lovely trip & let us know all about it when you get home - BON VOYAGE
  5. Thanks Skoalboy - I have just heard about this - here is a tiny bit more information that we are being reported:- CONFIRMED DEAD 17 Indians 13 Britons 4 South Africans 4 Singaporeans 3 Pakistanis 3 Filipinos 1 Irish 1 German The passengers were mostly foreigners from construction company Nass-Murray and Roberts who were celebrating completion of part of the Bahrain World Trade Centre towers. Unofficial tallies suggested that 25 Britons, 20 Filipinos, 10 South Africans and 10 Egyptians were among those onboard Correspondents and eyewitnesses reported the boat appeared heavily overcrowded before it set off into the harbour. Raymond Austin, from Kent, was one of a number of British employees of concrete company Delmon Readymix, who disembarked before the boat set sail. His daughter, Rebecca, 18, told BBC News he and two colleagues had decided to take the employees off the boat because the number of people aboard had made them fear for their safety. Another terrible tragedy and my thoughts are with the families who have lost a loved one.
  6. Thanks Jason, Slightly unusual names for the ships but not horrible, just unusual. I know some lines have strange or wierd names for their ships & I suppose it helps you to remember them if they are a bit wacky - these just remind me of Summer Solstice & Druids!!!!
  7. Thanks for posting the review Jen, I really enjoyed reading it!
  8. Hi Joe, Good thing with AA/BA is the codeshare usually means that they will do all your luggage transfer for you so you will not see your bags until you arrive in BCN. It does appear that the AA flight from LAX arrives into T3 at LHR and the BCN flights leave from T1 so do allow at least 30 mins to change terminals. There is a Metro link from BCN airport into the city which is quick & cheap but I wouldn't recommend this if you are not 100% confident in negotiating the metro map or city centre, taxis are not really expensive so a good way to go for 1st time visitors. You will prob have enough euros for the 2 nights so wouldn't worry too much about that side of things.
  9. Teacp many congrats on getting your docs  Dancing with you
  10. You Lucky Lucky people!! We will be going on a cruise in either April, May or June next year but am waiting for them all to come in on our net rates before making any decisions!! will prob be either Bermuda or Mex riviera (although neither are set in stone!)
  11. Hi Mebert, Congrats on getting your docs  Doing the doc dance with you
  12. This is awful - it must be dreadful losing someone whilst they are away from home in this way. I totally agree with smoking bans, I know more & more people who are successfully giving up smoking and its all helped by the restrictions in place in certain restaurants & bars, public transport & in the office.
  13. Gupta - Welcome to Cruise Crazies - Ask away if you want any questions answered there is a wonderful bunch of knowledgeable & helpful people here.. Re your question - There do seem to be alot of destinations here in Europe that Thongs are a regular & daily occurance (bit cold here in England but never mind - not that I could get away with wearing one now!!). But I must say in my personal opinion that whenever I have been on holiday in Europe it tends to only be the Germans who wear Speedo's (& the odd Italian posers) and as their bellies hang over soo much you dont really see them  Bermuda or tailored shorts are far more classy and normal bikini's seem to be the "done thing" on cruises, as people have said Cruise holidays do tend to be family holidays & I think a tad more classy than some holidays that people would wear thongs/speedo's to..
  14. Thanks for taking the time to post the review Popsec. I hope you have a great time on constellation.
  15. I did a 10 day sialing trip around the Hebrides but that cant be classed as a cruise as we had to sail the 35 foot vessel ourselves!! I have done ship visits on HAL Westerdam & Prinsendam for the day where we have indulged in hosted lunches & ship tours so I suppose those were cruises that were not cruises?
