  1. congrats on receiving your docs
  2. We always pack 1/2 & 1/2 just in case. we have been fortunate not to have lost a baggage to date but you know the one time you dont spend that few minutes longer making sure both cases have each persons essentials that will be the time one goes missing!!
  3. Congrats on getting your docs - doing the doc dance with you
  4. Many congratulations!! Sooooo jealous!!
  5. Congrats - doing the doc dance for you
  6. Hi Gogetter, As far as I am aware we can only put in requests for small or large tables when we are doing our bookings with carnival over here. What I did find was that I had been put on late sitting and went to see the Maitre'd and he changed it and gave us a table for 4 between the 3 of us, in the early sitting, and he did it whilst we were there so they do seem to try to be as helpful as possible so if worst comes to worst I am sure they will try to sort it out onboard.
  7. They were some good tips - although did seem a little like an ad at the end which I was a bit suprised at, especially as, if you have posted here for a short while you realise that most people probably know more than most agents. Even I, who sell cruises on airline-networkcouk haha - even need advice from time to time!
  8. What a fabulous album. Thanks alot for sharing. Glad to see the England Shirt out on occassion!!
  9. Doing the doc dance for you!!
  10. Look forward to reading your review. Hope you had a great time.
  11. CONGRATS!! soo jealous! The Alaska Cruise is defo on our "to do" list!
  12. Thanks for the pictures! So is that a "movie under the stars" type experience that they have put in now??
  13. Sounds like you had an awful time!! must admit our Carnival Miracle cruise sounds like heaven compared to that - I am due to visit one of HAL's ships on Sunday at Liverpool docks so will have to take extra notice on this one. We have been selling HAL as a 4* deluxe Cruise Line at work so looks like they may have some work to get back up to 5* quality from your review!
  14. I agree with Hazelson - Does look a bit like River Wallace in Belize?
  15. Laney's not the only one Green! Next step - THE DOC DANCE!!
  16. I would be devasted if Michael Owen went to ManU!! I was upset he left LFC but to go THERE would just be the utter pits!! sorry I know there are a lot of Manu fans (apart from in manchester that is - hahaha) Cheryl - I see what you mean about the shirts - hadn't noticed that one, they do look similar (dont think they look quite that similar in real life though?) - you know what men are like for not bothering if thye are clashing with others or not.. I do agree with jbond's comments (although just a point - I dont like Sherry, more of a Cognac person myself haha ) re Shearer and can see why he has been such an enhancement to the game for such a long time - it will be a sad day when he hangs his boots up - hope he will then move onto a good managers job!
  17. No worries - Glad you could see them I thought I had done it wrong at first! I am a Liverpool fan (being born on the Wirral had a lot of friends & family who were LFC fans) but like watching Newcastle play - unfortunately they are currently being beaten by Deportivo LaCaruna in their European qualifier at the moment but am keeping my fingers crossed as there's still 10 mins play to go.
  18. Have to wait a little while before I can go anb post on this one as we are having to do a short Cypurs break next year to enable the pennies to be saved for our 2007 cruise (not decided on Alaska, Mexican Riviera or Panama Canal as yet - any would be nice  )
  19. Very well put JBond!! A lot more interesting than what I could have written!! How daft was I to think other countries knew we celebrated the fact the Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament!! I think I enjoy Bonfire Night more than Halloween - which may be 1 reason the adults dont get quite involved as the kids on the 31st? too busy arranging who is bringing what nibbles and drink and fireworks for the following week haha  just to give an idea last November we went to our local park with a couple of thousand others for our local main display then to a big family doo on the saturday (6th) - not quite a few thousand to that but a late night & a lot of fun for the kids - bonfire toffee & marshmellows abound!
  20. My its a small world out there!! I was born on the Wirral (Cheshire) and now live in Lancashire but I did spend 2 years of my early teens in a place called Ashington just north of Newcastle so did pick up a small amount of Geordie "haway the lads" (yes I know how cheesey) I have - thanks to Jason - just built a small photo album on angelfire with 1/2 a dozen or so pictures from or cruise so if you can go to the following you will see the piccy of Jamie (in blue) with his friend on the second formal night:- http://www.angelfire.com/jazz/karenuk/carnival_miracle/ If this works that is!! :undecided: if not I will have to try again?
  21. Hi Cruisinmama, There are some lovely "trendy" girls clothes that still look nice without being too girly as long as she feels comfortable in what she is wearing then thats the most important thing. (bearing in mind she might feel uncomfortable if she is the only one not dressed up) I found my piccy of Jamie & his friend Cole on the second formal night but dont know how to attach it to a reply so will email Jason & find out - just to give you an idea of what people were wearing on our sailing.
  22. I think the adults over here are getting more involved now - there seem to be a list of parties we have to now go to on the 31st (and obviously the 5th Nov as well) at least it adds a little fun to the dismal dark evenings that are Oct & Nov!! I think I may suffer from that Winter depression syndrome!! haha  If I get chance to do a cruise at that time I will ask where the best place for Halloween parties are (for some reason new eangland is calling me!)
  23. There is nothing nicer that a young man or woman making an effort on a formal night - we had a couple of young lady's really standing out on our last cruise because they didnt make an effort & then there were all those lovley pictures showing the familiy's with the young men in Shirts & tie's and the lady's in grown up evening dresses - they dont need to go over the top as they can get away with a bit more than adults on the formal night and our son wore sandal's & normal van's type shoes with light coloured pants but with a shirt & tie it makes all the difference - we have a georgous picture of Jamie & his friend Cole on the second formal night in their little shirts & ties! defo one to keep. (little tear in eye)
  24. I really hope the surgury goes well - you should see if you can get an extra night for your holiday as I am sure she does a 4 day western caribbean. In the UK we can get the 4 night Key West & Cozumel cruise for a similar price to the 3 night Bahamas one? either way hope you both have a great cruise.
  25. Joey & David, I am sure you will have a fab time on this itinerary, Monte Carlo is awesome - you can smell the money in the air!!! Nice & Cannes are a few minutes apart and if you get time to visit the harbour area of Cannes it is very quaint.. It is amazing how compact the whole French Riviera is due to the builing restristions outside the city areas - we drove down the French alps to Nice and was amazed by the difference between the north side of the Motorway and south side. Pity you wern't in the UK for Halloween - it's a major night for the kids over here.
