  1. I know the port area is shaped like a large U. The bottom of the U is to the right side of the map. From what I remember the Celebrity ships are shown on the small - hopefully workable map. I think HAL and Carnival have the bottom of the U area on the pier. But the bottom of the U area last time was a COSTA ship. this area is the opening to the ocean. .......=_____=================================== .......=_____=================================== .......=_____===========pier area================== ====_____=================HAL================ . . . . . . . . . .. . .=====RCCL====================CELEBRITY========== =========pier area==============================
  2. There is long term pier parking to the north of the port. I think this is about $10 a day. There are also bed and breakfasts just to the North of the pier area - our friends used them the last time.
  3. All the lines have long term contracts with Fuel suppliers. And as they said they are not getting the most expensive mix to use. So costs are kept down. The fill up at major ports. Mostly in the US.
  4. Yes. It's a problem. But if they drink away from anyone and fall off their own Balcony then there is nothing the line can do.
  5. Same here. Got a black shirt and blue tie and cumberbun also to go with it.
  6. I can only think of waiting in the pre check in line for Celebrity where we waited to go through the security scanner. Every time we have hit short lines or fast lines no matter when we go. When we checked in with HAL - into a suite - the last time and our friends were in regular rooms they beat us through the line. The person running the suites must have been a rookie.
  7. Great timing. I randomly check my air schedules on Orbitz - just in case something changes. But when I book airlines I do it directly with the line I'm flying. Unless the one price is less. Sometimes Orbitz does have a lower price. They add on $5 or so per booking. My TA does the cruise checking for me.
  8. I guess this is a different dance step we will all have to learn.
  9. Very possiable. With the amount of Docs going out....
  10. This came up today - RCCL bought a small cruise line based in Spain. RCI has acquired Pullmantur cruiselines. http://######/news/news.cfm?ID=1772 Looks like a 5 ship fleet SS Oceanic - 39,000 tons - 1,136 pax - I think this is the old love boat. Blue Moon - 30,000 tons - 718 pax - built 2000. Blue Dream - 30,000 tons - 700 pax - built 2000. Sky Wonder - 47,000 tons - 1,550 pax - built 84. Holiday Dream - Under Construction - but look to be in the 40,000 ton class.
  11. Daily schedule: Up and running on deck for 20 minutes at 7:00am Then to the Gym for 20 minutes wrights and sit ups. Then to the pool for 20 minutes on the swim and hot tub and rinse off. Hey it's 8:00am and the wife wants coffee. Down to the room with the coffee and .... Getting dressed and out to start this days eat a thon....... Early morning trivia at 9:30am... Ship games till 11:45am or so.... Meet wife for lunch - she is up by now hopefully..... Lunch .... And then some more.... and a taste of something I may have missed. More ship games and trivia..... Till about 4pm or a little after. If they have the art auction I stop by to help the clean up any excess champagne and treats. We meet again and walk the deck for awhile.... at least a mile for her. Me I have something in hand to drink at this point. Then we play cards and and or tiles - Rummy o. I'm the guy getting spanked by the wife in this game. :( Then about 6pm or so we head to the Sushi bar. More food and games at the tables. Wife goes to the room at about 7:00pm to get ready. I have an hour to kill about the ship - and do this quite well. Then down to the room at 8pm or so and out to dinner by 8:30pm. If we have a ship party to go to the Sushi bar is quickly gone through then to the room.
  12. A few weeks back I spied a price drop on our 10 day trip in February. Called my TA. But used the drop to upgrade to a better level and cabin.
  13. What are you shipping there? I thought that on international flights you have a 70 lb limit?
  14. You have not yet pulled out the bags..... Hopefully you have the clothes pulled out and ready to go... Have a great trip.
  15. They will be fined for fishing without a lisence.
  16. That would be my crusing budget for the next 5 years...
  17. We had then about a year and a half ago. Right after they announced you would need them for Caribbean travel.
  18. I'll sign up. Can I be the late night Commedian.
  19. 53 gallons in not a lot to contain - if they got right after it. But it was most likely in the prop wash and went well mixed about the port area.
  20. Just want to supersize the room not the ship. :)
  21. They have banned just about everything I take in my carry on bag. Camers - 35mm that is $$$$. And the Film. The checked baggage machines use a higher power xray to look in the luggage and it is said to kill your film. I like to take a spiked rum and Pepsi to drink on the long plane ride.
  22. Where is High Street in relation to the port area. I have run down the main street about 2 miles or so off the port area?
  23. Thanks for the jokes... :)
